We take a witbier base and allow it to sour, similar to our Berliner, in the mash tun. We bake the orange peels and add then for buttering, along with coriander. Finally to bring that big burst of citrus we add 100 lbs of oranges from The Farm at Agritopia in Gilbert, AZ at the end of the boil. It all comes together for a mimosa like experience, but much cooler because it’s BEER!

Hazy orange/yellow color. Smells of Orange, wheat, subtle salt. Tastes tart with Orange peel, wheat, coriander with hint of salt. Mimosa beer. Yums

Smell is sour citrus, funk, and bitter beer. Taste is way better than the smell with a burst of bright citrus to start and an incredibly nice wheat aftertaste that lasts a long time and compliments the juicy sourness very nicely. Very sharp lively carbonation and incredibly drinkable. Perfect mouthfeel.

Draft at brewpub. Opaque light yellow cream color with slight off white head. Light and refreshing and ultimately thirst quenching. Mild to moderate pleasant easy drinking bitterness. Oranges stay in a complimentary role. (Doesn’t turn into oj beer). Very awesome.

draft, this is close to the berliner . Souring tastes similar. I like it. A wheaty sour beer. yum yum. I would like to see this dry hopped, maybe simcoe? that would be cool. Either way, the base is tasty, very refreshing.

Hazy golden orange. Tart aroma with coriander and citrus aroma much as described, this is a very sour but very easy to drink wit. Really nice

On draft at AZ Wilderness. Hazy orange body with a thick, white head. Complex aroma, consisting of orange, coriander, citrus rind, oak, wine, funk, grass, floral and herbal notes. Massive sour character. In your face. Orange juice and a Berliner like quality, finishing with a direct assault on the palate, puckering the jaw and cheeks. My kind of beer. Wonderfully complex. Unabated and unforgiving. A delightful beer to sip over dinner and conversation.

On draft during 1 year Annv. Smell is out of this world, almost like in the middle of an orange field. Pours with some slight carbonation and a very bright orange hazy color. Taste was phenomenal, primarily sweet and sour orange with a mingling of salty finish. Apt description of a beer mimosa.

This is one mighty sour Wit. I suspect this is similar to their highly touted Berliner Weiss, but with more meat on it.

Growler pours with a slightly hazy deep gold body that supports a tiny short lived white head. The aroma offers up sweet grainy sour notes flowing into mild banana and then orange and a dash of lemon. The taste starts with a mix of sweetness and graininess. It then quickly gets into a blend of sweet banana, a tad of orange gummy bear candy, a sliver of bubble gum and a pleasing grainy sour mash goodness that fits in here perfect. This is going to be a dynamite Phoenix area summer beer.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2014 Taster at the brewpub. Sour and citrus blend well on the aroma, with a boatload of soft orange (almost like orange blossom), muted tartness, and a touch of jasmine and coriander. Hazy light lemon in color. A creamy sourness (soft acidity) greets the tongue upon first sip, followed by sweet, floral orange, a touch of lemon juice, and strangely, a bit of whole milk. There is definitely a mimosa taste. The tartness is never overwhelming, and it creates a mouthfeel that is soft and slightly puckering at the same time. Good stuff.
