2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 imdownthepub (7461) - Banbury, - OCT 6, 2003
Cask Conditioned at The Royal Oak, Ramsden, Oxon. Dark reddish bitter with thin head. Sourish tired tasting boiled veg beer, little bitterness on the finish. The Landlord did say it was near the end of the barrel so I'm being a little harsh I suppose.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - SEP 29, 2011
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in May 2009. Cask handpump dispense. Pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Slight sulphurous tang in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Thin pale malt base gives a digestive teabiscuit flavour with a thin caramel sweetness. Metallic tang of hop resins lacks conviction. Ends in a sweet finish. Poor effort though.
