UPDATED: APR 29, 2009 33cl bottle, from BeersOfEurope. Fairly typical of many of the regional brewers’ attempts at a golden ale, I’d say. That is, light in colour but not particularly aromatic. This one, of course, has the added hindrance of being pasteurised, which is bound to have an adverse effect on more delicate beers. As this is. Spritzy, with a touch of citrus but, truth be told, there’s not a lot to it. OK as an easy-drinking summer quaffer as a lager alternative (not that I tend to drink lagers as summer quaffers anyway).

33cl Bottle. Pasteurised. Golden with a head that soon disappears. Aromas are caramel and butter, somewhat skunky due to the clear bottle. Some sweet lemon is also present. Flavours are sweet, soft citrus fruit with caramel malts. Sweet, gentle grapefruit bitterness on the finish. An average session beer.
