Bügelverschlußflasche: Hazy, golden to deep golden, small to medium-sized white head with a little lace; deep sweet-malty, a bit bready nose under a light blanket of alcohol; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; sweet-honeyish finish with a little hoppy tail. A goody.......

Tab@brewpub. It’s unclear dark golden with a creamy, huge head. The aroma has a light sourness and notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol-bite and the finish is slightly spicy.

Draught at the brauhaus
Hazy amber color; creamy head. The malt profile of this beer is too subdued, there is some caramel, but also some sourness, evident both in the aroma and flavor. Off.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2011

500 ml bottle, BB date says 6. July 2011. Pour into tulip creates deep golden to light amber body with good clarity topped by medium, persistent dense white head that clings to the walls weaving solid lacing. The head gradually sets to a stable cloth. Malty aroma with evident toasty-melanoidin character, notes of caramel and some faint unobtrusive alcohol. The flavor is rich maltiness with prominent toasty-melanoidin qualities, caramel, peppery spiciness from the hops used or alcohol and the right amount of supportive hoppy bitterness allowing moderately dry, bitter-sweet finish with both malt and hop taste. Medium to full bodied with moderately low carbonation and some alcohol warmth. In short: A well balanced, somewhat spicy helles bock with explicit toasty-melanoidin qualities and refined bitter-sweet finish. An excellent contribution from this state-owned brewery.

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Hazy copper color. Sweet worty aroma with toffee, nuts and bread. Sweet worty and malty taste with fruity bitterness in finish. Full bodied. Too worty for my taste, it masks maltiness which I expect in bock.

MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - AUG 10, 2010
(swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, golden colour with a short but stable cream-coloured foamy head. Sweet bready and cara-malty aroma, also slightly grainy with a touch of herbal hops and alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Hearty (cara-)malty and bready taste with shy notes of honey; sweet malt-accented finish with a delicately herbal hoppy touch. Decent and pleasant. 04.VIII.08

50 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours clear and golden orange with a fully gone head. Aroma is mild phenolic and malty. Sweet caramelish and light fruity. Subdued hops note, yet a light counter bitterness to balance. Caramelish sweet finish, slight phenolic too.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol, as well as light notes of bread. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel, metal, and alcohol, as well as notes of bread, leading to a dry metallic finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Sweet malty nose with flowery hops. Very solid malt base, sweet, clean malts and again flowery - almost perfumy - hops. Bitterish finish with some detectable alcohol also. Quite solid. 200310
