[500ml bottle, Arran Brewery] Light gold pour, quite thin looking. Some haze evident. Malty aromas. Subtle on the palate, some malt and a touch of bitter hop. The classic Scottish session bitter. Previously known as Arran Light – and not without reason [17112008]

In bottle. Pours a dark, golden colour with a lacy white head. Some caramel, yeasty aromas. Tastes fresh and clean with nice hop bitterness that lingers. Also some pepper in there. A little dry and nicely bitter.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a clear, amber beer with a cask-sized off-white head. Hops dominates the aroma, with a metallic touch and some caramel. A hint of cellar too. The flavor has a nice bitterness, citrus peel, and some malts. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. The end is mostly bitter, but with a high level of metal, quite annoying. Overall, sure drinkable, but not very interesting, and way too metallic, all the way. 110319

Pours clear amber with short lived rich white head. Aroma of malts and some caramel and hay. Flavor is watery dry hay with hints of malts. Feel some artificial sweet pear flavor as well. Not much joy on palate. Finishes bitter tart.
