Almost he same colour as the bottle. Very brown. Thin lacy head. Rich and malty but altogether less than amazing. Very malty with caramel along with some heavy cereal notes. A little fizzy but really nice and oily. Pretty nice and drinkable but nothing at all special.

Bottle (500ml):
Dark roasted malts and an earthy hop aroma with some burnt toast in there as well. There is a strong and rich bitterness to the aroma and overall the beer is well balanced on the nose without really exciting.
Mild chestnut brown colour with a thin looking, foamy head that is light brown in colour and fades from a centimetre tall to a soapy lacing after about thirty seconds.
Earthy malts make up most of the taste here along with a little bit of spice, some bitterness and a touch of caramel and vanilla. It seems a bit more complex that the aroma but again without truly standing out.
Medium and smooth with mild to moderate carbonation and a crisp finish that has a touch of bitterness as well as some sweetness to it.

Not a bad pint that as I mentioned probably won’t stand out from the crowd but still goes down pretty well and taste good. I enjoyed it but I’d probably not pick it up again.

bottle from Tesco in Port Greenock. Pours a nice color, but going to skip everything and get right to it. I was actually afraid to drink this. it had a strong odor of bleach, and so was the taste. I drain poured this very quickly. I have never been afraid to drink a beer before...

Bottle from Sainsbury’s Nairn.
Dark golden brown, very thin head that dissipates to nothing.
Aroma - Not much here, some roasted malts, slight hint of chocolate, hay.
Tastes of roasted and toasted malt, earthy. Rather rough and not great.
Palate is thin, low carb, very dry, rough, sourish finish.
Overall - Sub-standard bitter.

Appearance is medium amber and hazy. The aroma is vinous and fruity and has a hint at scotch barrel aging that almost has a hint of rubber, not good. The flavor is off and has a hint of rubber, again not a good sign. Could have been much better.

Bottled, 500ml from a Co-Op near the Campsite. Gold to copper with white head. Pretty malty with a bit of a metallic edge, sharp, hints of caramel and grain, no real finish apart from the above lingering on the palate.Just about ok.

Pours a gorgeous russet topped with a firm slightly off white head. Aroma is sweet malts, caramel, juicy caramel and the merest hint of earthy spice. tastewise the sweetness of caramel and light chocolate dominates and with a slightly thin body makes the beer insanely drinkable. Gorgeous, gorgeous beer, exactly what a Scottish ale should be.

In bottle. Pours a deep red-brown colour with a lacy head. Grassy, hay aroma with some yeast. Not my favourite. Some malt flavour with grassy hop notes. A bit thin and light for the style I think.

Bottle from Cross Stobs Bottle Shop, Barrhead. Chocolate, butterscotch and whisky flavours come through this dark amber ale. Excellent

Shared with poisoneddwarf and brenn79. Aroma was my favorite part of this beer which consist of whiskey and butterscotch. Pours an amber color with a minimal head and bad lacing. This beer starts off with a good caramel palate and finishes with a dissappointing charcoal flavor. Overall the aroma i liked and the flavor dissappointed.
