Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, spicy, light roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100120]

Cask. An amber beer with a thick beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Cask. Clear amber golden with no head. Light body, completely flat with very sweet caramel and fruit. No bitterness. 200110

Cask. Deep ambery brown colour with small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hop along with dark dry fruits and caramel malts. Flavour is caramel malts, dark dry fruits, some hoppyness as well as some toffee.

Sampled cask conditioned. Copper coloured. Spicy, roasty aroma. Medium bodied. Salty and peaty with bitter finish.

Cask at Scottish Real Ale Festival 2009 ... copper ... smokey woody dry malt nose ...again woody malts ...some hop in background ...little bitter.

Cask handpull at Oran-Mor, Glasgow. Very drinkable, decent dark malts, reasonably light in the malts though. Nice though, some choc/coffee.

Copper brown color, good off-white creamy head. Slightly toasted butterscotch and mild hops in the nose. Chocolaty, roasted malty flavor - some in the aftertaste. Some sweetness there too. Solid example of Scottish style.

Peppery hop aroma. Bronze coloured fruity and a little rich on the palate with a hint of bitterness in a dry malt finish.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Dark amber with white head. Malty sweet beer with hints of toffee and fruit, blackberries, loganberries type of thing. Disappointing finish, not much in there, but an average sort of beer.
