Cask at Bon Accord, Glasgow. Enjoyable, much hoppier than the usual Scottish 80/- style beers. Not dark so much as amber. Fruit and spice flavours along with the hop.

Cask at jdw Aberdeen. Chestnut brown / copper coloured pour with a stodgy speckled cream coloured head. Aroma is nutty malts with touch of caramel woody twigs and some dried fruits. Flavour follows with some raisin, nutty malts, twigs and berry notes. Palate is medium bodied, semi sweet and moderately low carbonation. Drinks pretty well.

Cask avec full Scootish breakfast at the Archibald Simpson, ABZ, 21/06/14. Chestnut brown with a decent light beige covering that retains. Nose is malt based, light tobacco, earthy cocoa leangings, biscuit. Taste comprises brown bread, dark malt, cocoa rub, dark fruit tones, raisens. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, mellow bitter trace in the close. Decent enough fayre.

Cask conditoined @ South Western Arms, Soton. Chocolatey malts and liquorice flavours. Earthy hops complement the light roastiness, creamy feel but not too sweet. I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more without the smooth thick body, which some people probably like.

A Mes rate: Cask at The Gatehouse ’Sporks.
Mid brown with a slim white head. Quite hoppy in the aroma with some underlying malt and caramel. Malts come to the fore in the mouth with more caramel and a pronounced nutty note. Quite sweet. Bitter hoppy finish. Dull but ok.
