3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 AshtonMcCobb (777) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 1, 2012
On cask @ the Bow Bar. Pours dark amber with a proportionate head. The nose has spices - dried orange and cinnamon I get. The taste has more of the same and now I get the ginger. The palate is medium bodied with a medium thick texture and a decent clean finish. Overall, the best I’ve had from Arran.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (1681) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 29, 2012
On cask at The Bow Bar. Pours a dark golden colour with a lovely ginger aroma. Similar ginger flavour upfront with caramel and light grassy hops. Nice.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tombyars (672) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - SEP 29, 2011
First tasted this in Chestnuts Hotel, Ayr in January 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear ruby red in colour with a thin off white head. Cloves in the short but intense aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malt base gives a range of flavours with aromatic spices, cloves, redcurrant fruit and weak ginger beer. Spicy hops give a resiny aftertaste which leads to a rather dry smokey finish. An interesting ruby ale but hard to find.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BeerCast_Rich (1056) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 25, 2011
[cask at the Stockbridge Tap, Edinburgh] One of the lesser-known Arran ales. Malty aromas from a nut-brown ale with a decent white head from the sparkler. Does weight towards the 80 shilling end of the spectrum – reasonably rich mouthfeel, caramel malt and a sweet finish. Some vague gingeryness about it, but nothing major [15022009]
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 harrisoni (9608) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2008
Cask handpull at County Hotel, Ashford. Deep chestnut. Ginger from the start. No great condition either. I tend to like ginger beers, but this one is awful. Almost undrinkable. Ginger lemon shandy. Taste of stale dust. Pretty poor.
1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 4, 2008
Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Dark coppery brown. A nasty whiff of ginger in the aroma. Taste is also unpleasantly gingery with a background of Band Aid and proprietory medicines. Foul.

[cask at JDW] The aroma is sweet and malty, caramel, some fruit and a hint of ginger. medium body, finish is dry and leaves a bit of ginger on the tongue.
