Bottle. Golden with a firm cream foam. Aromas are light cereal grain malts with dusty yeast and hints of apple. Creamy wood with floral notes. Flavours are nutty weetabix malts with creamy oakiness. Brown sugar with clean, peppery, leafy hops. OK.

BlackHaddock (4275) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 10, 2015
500ml bottle: BBE Apr 15. Poured at home during a ’random tasting session’ with myself on 10th Jan 15. Clear amber body, a little light but amber it was, on top a full foam blanket of tight white bubbles. Floral hop nose and taste with some half hidden malty fruitiness in both also. Hops do control the aroma and taste, but the malt content prevents the beer becoming too bitter, dry or hopish in nature. Nice blend of flavours: might have liked more of an alcohol punch though.

imdownthepub (10776) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2014
Bottled, 500ml from S.H Jones in Banbury. Gold with white head. Light malty beer, sweetish biscuity notes from the malt with a hint of caramel and lemon. The citrus note increases with a light hoppy note. Just a little flabby from the sweetness but reasonable enough.

tombyars (1414) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - JUL 16, 2014
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) on 31st May 2014. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear orange amber in colour with a thin open white head. Very short in the aroma with notes of weak malt grain and green apple. Thin watery mouthfeel and poor lacing. Mixed malts give a thin digestive biscuit base with little complexity of other flavours. There is a slight dry grain husk note in the faint metallic aftertaste. Finish is very poor with little body and just a hint of watery malt with weak marmalade and oak cask barely present. This is a poor Golden Ale, completely lacking in depth of flavour and complexity when compared to a classic like Theakstons Best Bitter which has the same ABV! This is a really poor session ale - one to miss.

500ml bottle from Ninas, Tollcross. BBE 31/12/13. Pours clear pale amber with a massive rocky white head, too fizzy. Aromas of metal and red fruit. Tastes of not very much, light toffee maybe. Watery finish.
