3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Walsgrave Aldi. Sweet, sweet relief after a tedious Hogs Back. Deep coppery gold capped with a fine-lacing white foam. Aroma slightly sharp and gooseberry-like with a mellow hum of ganja, nettle and celery over that old school Scottish oatmeal malt thing, Possibly a hint of Playdoh. Subtle but quite a sniffer. Mellow soapy floral flavour with watery lemon and lime over cashew and oat. Slick-bodied, almost saline with ozone-like mineral aspects. Again, very old school. Rich Tea and mellow herbal afters. Really pleasant: proves it’s possible to put an unpasteurised bottle on the supermarket shelves and how clean and nuanced such a beer can be.

Pours with a clear amber-brown body topped by a large frothy, tan head. Good retention and ample lacing.
Mild aroma with a mix of spicy-herbal-flowery hops and fainter medium malts .
Flavor: more malty than the aroma.
O: decent but unexceptional.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml bottle from Aldi - Clear golden colour with a thick creamy head. Nose is wet cereal, tastes a bit watery at the start, but survives with the palate a bit. Not a guid ale really, not sure what it is aiming to be.

Nice floral aroma almost camomile. Pours golden with rapidly disappearing head dry and short finish average beer would only drink every Preston guild.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - amber with a nice head. Nose - oats, honey, maybe even toffee. Maybe some nuts too. Taste - confirmed as above kinda like Hobnobs. Palate - close to medium bodied with creamy sweet texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - it’s not necessarily guid but it is decent.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A mid to dark amber coloured beer with a thick and frothy off white head. A dusty malt aroma with a light fruity hop background. Dry mouthfeel. The taste mirrors the aroma, with dry, dusty, malt flavours, biscuity and a touch of caramel. This is then matched by a very mild bitter hop flavour, with a hint of grass and fruit. The finish is long and dry.
