Bottle from Threshers. Attractive appearance with a reddish colour and big, tight off-white head. Malty aroma of frujit and nuts, with a hint of liquorice and chocolate powder. Flavour was bready, with red fruits, chocolate and a bitter finish. Good.

Biggish beige head. Red-brown body with light carbonation. Roasty dusty caramelly straw and syrup aroma, very harmonic with rye crisp bread notes. Dry-sweetish roasty toffee and caramel taste with fruity chocolatey dusty notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish, dusty mouthfeel. Dry wooden fruity chocolatey aftertaste with dusty grassy notes. Chocolate and fruit is not the best possible combination, but otherwise this was quite nice. (0.5l bottle, Wine Rack, Edinburgh.)

Bottle… Clear copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma was fragile to begin with, and Alan using an entire bottle of Resolve to clean up a GoT spill didn’t help much, but I was able to pull some gentle notes of toast and caramel from my glass. Light-bodied with medium carbonation. Balanced perfectly. Watery, and then dry finish. Refreshing. Bottle courtesy of TheCheeseMan!

Because Solan stirred up the resolve carpet cleaner smell, I’m stealing his rate. Courtesy ChzMan. Amber. Off white head. Toasty, bready, toffee malt and earthy, mildly bitter hops. Light body, balanced.

Cask in Blackfriars. Alround rating: A fairly boring malty bitter, some grassy bittering hop. But pritty boring stuff.
