Couleur ambré foncé; mousse beige; arômes et goût maltés, fruités, de résine et liquoreux; bière assez douce avec finale bien amère; l’alcool est un peu trop présent

Gluepot (423) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 22, 2016
Another tasty, heavy-weight ale in the arrogant bastard series. The nose leads with roasted caramel malt, with added touches of woodiness and bourbon. Signature power-house deep roasted caramel malt, raisins, dark berries and citrus and piney hops can’t be trifled with. Bourbon and vanilla add to melange. The Oak is definitely there as well. A dense body with a slick almost sticky mouth feel helps sustain both the malt and hoppy elements. A very dark and tasty big boy ale.

On tap. Pours a cloudy brown with a thin beige head and good lacing. Aroma of berries and wood. Fairly similar flavor to regular arrogant bastard with a hint of sweetness that definitely improves the taste. Leaves a strong bitter aftertaste.

35,5 cl. 8,1% ABV. Corpo medio, mediamente carbonata.

Mahogany and clear. Aroma is bourbon barrel, caramel, light booze. Flavour is barrel, but pretty mellow, caramel, slight fruity. Not bad

Malty aroma with a surprisingly light touch of bourbon. Bready aroma, caramel. Hop presence is mild, imparting a general bitterness. A bit of spice , perhaps from the oak. Color is a clear dark reddish brown. Moderate light tan head. Taste is fairly sweet; bitterness is mild to moderate. Body is medium; texture is oily/creamy; carbonation is average. Finish is fairly long, starting sweet, then bitter and ending with a little heat (from the alcohol?). Overall it’s fairly good, though a bit too malt dominated for my taste.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of oak, caramel and malt. Appearance is thick looking mahogany with tan lacing head. Tasting oak, bourbon, spice, vanilla, smoke, cocoa, cherry, piney and floral hops, caramel, toffee, herbs. Palate is full flavored but a bit on the heavy side. Slightly sticky feel. Overall, a lot going on here, maybe too much, but still a great brew.
