IT LOOKS LIKE DARK HONEY WITH BASICALLY NO HEAD, COMES IN 22OZ BOTTLES WHICH IS A SHAME BECAUSE I WOULD LOVE A SIX PACK OF THESE,TASTES LIKE NOTHING BUT HOPS WITH BARELY ANY AROMA BASICALY JUST A GOOD HOPPY BITTER ALE WITH DESENT ALCOHOL CONTENT QUITE DELICIOUS BUT IN THIS CASE THE BOTTLING AND GIMIC MAY ACTUALLY BE COOLER THAN THE ACTUAL BREW IS , STILL GREAT NONE THE LESS. bobert (6), woodcliff lake, New Hampshire, USA does not count | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 25, 2009 Not a fan of hoppy, herbal, aromatic beers, which this is. If you like that style this is definitely a solid choice. The Arrogant Bastard Ale (incredible name--reason why I bought it) is simply put...arrogant. Strong, hoppy, out of control with hoppiness, it is like an IPA. Not my cup of tea (or beer I guess) but it will grow on you and is a good brew. baraciisch (138), USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 23, 2009 On tap at Coasters. Light brown pour with a creamy tan head. Surprisingly very little aroma; almost undetectable. Flavor, however, is very noticeable; bitter hops balanced with some malty sweetness. I suppose it is listed as an American Strong Ale because there is no real good category to list this one in. Certainly unique in flavor even though it is hoppy. A great beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Sampled many times before, this time poured at Made in the Shade 2009. Pours a deep red/brown with thick two-finger white head. Aroma of pine/citrus/spicey hops and some caramel maltiness. Taste is definitely on the bitter side, lots of spicy hop character pours through (chinook?). Big malt backbone to back up the bitterness. Not necessarily really drinkable, but pretty tasty. My preference would be for a less spicy variety of hop. nerdrocker101 (102), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Bottle. Dark red pour with a moderate, foamy head. Malty aroma of nuts and toffee with some hop notes. Caramel flavors with nice spicy hops on the back end. This is a really well rounded big beer. It’s the perfect starting point when you’re checking out this brewery. curly (575), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Pours dark ruby brown with a long lasting creamy tan head. Aroma is cherry, alcohol, butter, honey, citrus, and roast. Taste is bitter up front with hops and roast malt, then ripe fruit. Just enough sweet thick malt is present to offset the massive amount of rich hop. Very excellent beer and perfectly balanced.
