Flavor is much of the same. Very bitter, but doesn’t linger. Finishes sweet-ish and dry. BOLTZ7555 (1070), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Rusty colored pour with a creamy eggshell head that left a significant amount of lacing. Aroma is of caramel, sweet malt, and candied citrus. Flavor is fairly well balanced, although not as aggressive/assertive/arrogant as it’s older brother...has a similar profile of dark fruit, hops, and alcohol. Tasty beer...surprised I hadn’t rated it before. Vertical Bacon Strips (888), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Hazy reddish brown in apperance, a decent tan head is produced with a good pour that produced some nice sticky lacing early on. There is a hell of alot strong, savoury fruity malts, fresh and warm aromatic hops and grapefruit. Very strong aroma overall. The malts come out very nicely after this bastard has warmed. I love malts and the malt taste here is amazing. Insanely tasty malts! Awsome. Peppery hops, what seems to be a bitter chocolateness and even some hearty bread. There is also a sweet quality to the flavour. Very soft creamy mouthfeel. Not sure if I’m feeling the hops or the alcohol, but it’s all good. Heavily bodied and a very bitter aftertaste which is almost numbing. Excellent finish. I don’t find any flaws in this beer. It’s fresh, tasty and very enjoyable and even better closing in on room temperature. skmikeg (72), Poway, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Poured a dark, hazy brown with a small white head. Aroma is strong of malt, yeast, and hops with notes of grapefruit, citrus, pine, and dark fruit standing out. On the palate, the beer felt crisp and dry. Perfect carbonation. The taste brought out a hoppy bite. The finish was a little dry. Worth drinking again. Chef Chad (102), Grand Junction, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Nose was hops o plenty with some fruit and pine. Pours a nice brownish red with some good head. The carbonation and medium body is very well done and works well with the high hops... Finish is smooth.. Malty and hoppy with some citrus. I wanted to drink this again before I rated it and I am glad I did... a year ago I would of rated it a lot higher... still a good beer
