Put off rating this one for a while, not really sure why, as it used to be one of my go to beers prior to taking notes. Pours a lightly hazy crimson with a voluminously large lightly tanned beige head, leaving ample lacing. Aromas of citrus hops, grain, malt. Medium bodied, malty and hoppy. Ends with a very large amount of bitterness. osu97gp (171), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2009 Draft. Poured an amber red with a white head. Strong aroma of hops. Strong flavor of hops. Strong flavors make this a pretty good beer. larsga (2958), Oslo, Norway
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2009 Biggish beige lasting head. Deep dark red body. Strong fruity malty aroma with roasty wild berry notes. Dry-sweet malty raisiny wild berry taste with dusty roasty chocolate notes. Some alcohol, too. Full body. Sharpish mouthfeel, probably bitterness, with some alcohol heat. Dry peppery roasty toffee caramel malts aftertaste with citric notes. Very sweet. Excellent. Rather like a huge top-fermented doppelbock. The alcohol, sweet malts, and the bitterness crash together to some degree. (0.65l bottle at Olympen, Oslo.) warrenc (21), Oregon, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 15, 2009 This beer is a dark ruby color, with a fluffy head. the aroma is malty, with hops and fruits. the taste is strong with bitterness from hops, and sweet, it is hard to depict flavors in this since the hops are over wellming, but i love the bitterness.. over all i think this is a really good brew Sigmund (2273), Hafrsfjord, Norway
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2009 1 pt. 6 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.2%. Dark brown to ruby colour, big to moderate light tan head. Nice but surprisingly moderate aroma of floral and fruity hops. "Arrogance" shows its face in the flavour, with a distinct and aggressive hoppy bitterness from start to finish. There is a certain malty sweetness in the background, but I cannot say the Arrogant Bastard belongs in the "well balanced" category. It is probably not meant to belong there. Perhaps I am "not worthy" after all? My wife said she liked it, though. Spooky ... It was love at first sip. Complex, aggressive and weighty. Not to mention bonus points for the insulting packaging. Top Notch.
