3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a beautifully clear dark red color with ample tan head. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, bread/yeast, resinous pine, and a hint of sweetness. Flavors were similar, very heavy on the caramel maltiness, pine, and toasted biscuit. Full bodied mouthfeel with a nice astringent finish. Well balanced, very solid "reliable" classic beer.

(650 ml bottle into wine glass.) Pours clear and brown with a ruby red shimmer topped with a hefty 2-finger, yellowish head. Well enough carbonation yet very nice. The taste has some distinct hints of roasted coffee swirling with fruits and a bold hop profile that leaves a long bitter tail. A proper brew.

Bottle, 650 ml from Luvians bottle shop, St Andrews. Pours deep amber, lasting beige head. Caramel malty, dark fruit, spicy, toffee, sweet. Moderate hoppiness. Bitter finish. Had this on my list for some time, didn’t really knock me off my feet, but it is a good brew.
