4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 umich03jm (910) - Allen Park, Michigan, USA - APR 18, 2013
Bomber. Had this many times but have never gotten around to rating it. Pours a clear amber color with a nice 1 finger head that fades slowly and never seems to completely go away. Awesome appearance. Fairly complex aroma, nice balance of hops and malt. Pine, flowers, grapefruit, toasted malt, and lightly burnt caramel. Taste is awesome. So smooth and balanced. Pine and citrus hops complements the toasted malt the whole way through. Light sweetness and moderate bitterness. Smooth, spicy, bready finish. Light to medium body. Overall, I go back to this all the time because it seems appropriate for any type of weather or mood I’m in. And it’s hard to beat the price too.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerKurve (219) - - APR 17, 2013
Dark Red with a fluffy 4 finger head. Has an aroma of sweet caramel & toffee with some mild piney hops. Flavor has some sweet caramel & licorice notes with some piney hops to back it up. Heavy bodied with some fairly strong carbonation, this is more of a sipper. Overall a great strong ale
4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 ivyman123 (10) - Indiana, USA - APR 17, 2013
After reading the hilarious description, I honestly expected to suffer from a hop overload, but this beer is amazing! Pours with a thick, creamy beige head, which has a nutty, sweet flavor. The beer is darker than expected, a deep dark red and bubbly with carbonation. Nutty, grassy, caramel/coffee notes in the forground, enough to entertain the palate but not enough to knock you over the head, and a pleasantly bitter sweet finish.

Draught. Poured amber brown with creamy head. Hoppy aromas. Very nice balanced between hops and malts.

The head is strong. It has a clear dark amber color. The taste is slight beer and very pleasing. The aroma is strong without an over domination of one ingredient over another. This is one of the best beers as consistency and taste go.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 humlelala (687) - DENMARK - APR 10, 2013
(on tap @ Craft Beer Company Clerkenwell) Pours a clear, dark copper with medium, dense, tan head. Aroma is both hoppy and malty and has notes of herbs, tea and caramel. Creamy palate, full body, medium carbonation and a sweet yet hopped finish. Very well composed and balanced. It tastes like the brewer has managed to pack a lot of complementary flavours into this beer, which in the end manage to hold each other in check in their rivalry for the dominance of my palate. Big amounts of toffee sweetness, a considerate amount of herbal hops and a hint of something that seems a bit smoked to me. Very pleasant and well executed. The ABV is well-masked, making this beer dangerously drinkable.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 lawman834 (171) - Georgia, USA - APR 8, 2013
Sampled at the Texas Craft Brew fest, my score is based off of some incoherent notes and a 2 oz sample.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Gramoit (252) - AUSTRALIA - APR 5, 2013
Pours amber with a one finger white fluffy head. Hops at first on the nose but with malts taking over over time. Was a little surprised with this one, I was expecting another excellent Stone beer, but it fell a little short. Still a solid beer, but the bitterness seemed to take over by then end.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 TH28 (20) - - MAR 30, 2013
Appearance is deep red amber with creamy tan foam cap. Aroma is deep caramel malt and fruit. Slight hint of poem and raisin. Taste is several layers complex layers of roasted, nutty, and caramel malt but not overwhelming. Sharp hop bite on the finish that balances everything. Nice but of carbonation with a crisp, clean finish. Overall great beer.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 OKplus (355) - Oklahoma, USA - MAR 29, 2013
A - Pours a cloudy dark amber copper with a 2 finger foamy off-white head with excellent retention.
S - Fresh grapefruit citrus, earthy pine, plums, toasted malt
T - A bounty of fresh grapefruit rushes in with huge flavor and bitterness. A resiny pine shows up towards the finish. The caramel malt has a roasted fruit character and provides just enough sweetness to counteract the complex hops. Aftertaste is nutty and bitter with the malt still lingering on the palate.
M - Full bodied with good carbonation.
A citrus wonderland along with a carameled fruit malt makes mouth happy. Complex hop profile that keep going and going. Just an awesome brew.
