my first really really good beer, the first time i tried this the best beer i had to that point was heineken. This beer surprised the hell out of me because up till then i expected beer to have little taste if any at all. Remains one of my favorites right behind double bastard ale. Best served a little below room tempature

I neglected to take notes when tasting this beer, so this is all from memory. My first impression was that this is an exceptionally intense beer with quite a bit of grapefruit. I don’t recall too much of anything else, but the experience was pleasant enough. Still, I don’t know if I would rate it as highly as many of the people have here. I may have to give it another try, just to be sure.

Nutty caramel and pine smell with hints of bubblegum and licorice. Dark amber color and difficult to see the action with an off tan head. Heavy sweet bitter with roasted almost burnt malt taste and has a smooth finish of herbal pine and some grapefruit. Medium to moderate bodied, very resinous, and has lively soft carbonation. The drinkability is exceptional for the style.

Wow, I had wanted to try this for a long time finally found it on the east coast. Definitely worth the wait. Poured a clear reddish color, eggshell colored head. Strong nose full of citrus. Alcohol is somewhat aggressive with a slight nutty flavor and dry hops. Pretty bitter finish.

read about it on the internet. had to try it and no regrets AT ALL. this beer is so intense and flavorful. the pour is very nice. nice dark red color. smells of hops. malts and very much like citrus almost grapefruit like. very strong up front. can really taste the hops. nice citrus finish. but all around VERY NICE. hats off. cant wait to try the double bastard

They dare you not to like it and I have to say I don’t like it. Just too overpowering for me. Maybe when I get more hair on my chest I’ll give it another try but for now this is too far in the deep end for me.

Really Strong but good taste.. Light beer drinkers will not like it.. Nice strong aroma....

Bomber. Pours reddish-brown with a large, long-lasting sudsy beige head. Aroma is grapefruit hops and, oddly, maybe some fruit. Flavor is a whole lot of hops, as promised, although with some nice complexity, with resiny pine notes and nice malt backing. Excellent beer, and not as one-dimensional of a hop bomb as the branding might imply (although not a good starting point for craft-beer neophytes either).
