COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Wow, this beer lives up to its name and prevents me from being a true professional beer drinker. I personally do not enjoy it but it does have a lot of quality and depth like they claim. I give it nice props for the appearance which is unique. I also prefer on tap over bottle, but you have to know a good bar to find it on tap. Bitter aftertaste could be toned down, i do not need my beer slapping me in my mouth after I drink it. Still a good heavy beer to check out

Deep amber in color with a small white head.Citrus, roasted malt and earthy aroma.Huge hop flavor to go along with bitterness and a decent malt backbone.Bitter,bitter,bitter,hops,hops,hops. I may not be worthy, but I'm going keep drinking anyway.

Good strong, hoppy ale with sort of an abrupt finish. Typical Stone brewing with the great hops and color (deep amber/almost copper color) with short head but good lacing. Grapefruit, maybe brown sugar hints. This is a good ale, but the finish is too short for a real hop head. Nice brew.

It's hoppy. Go figure. A hoppy beer from Stone. Hey, I accidentally dumped way too many hops in my latest homebrew! I'm qualified to be a Stone brewmaster!

This beer isn't joking, most people will not like it because its very bitter. Very nice shade of brown with a regular head. If you like something that will kick you in the balls then this is the beer for you.

Not as aggressive as Stone's Double Bastard, this is still an excellent ale. They certainly didn't spare the hops when cooking up this one. Perfectly bitter and a noticeable alcohol not, but still sweet and easy on the palate. Certainly not for everyone, but I wish brews like this were more available.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2004 Pours thick, with an off-white mostly diminishing head, rather low lacing. Under high intensity light the liquid appears an attractive ruby red, a fair amount of bubbles are present. Nose reeks of berries, sweet malts and subtle hops. Initial flavor is very malty and dry, and then it starts to get exciting. Resin sets in, followed by fruit and strong bitter hops that are held in check by appropriately strong malts. The after taste is resin and bitter that lingers for minutes. Overall, well balanced, thick, full bodied and a pleasure to consume!

This ale poured a coppery brown that was very exciting to look at seated atop was amonstrous tan head that just wouldn't quit, very impressive to look at. Nose was very abundant with hops and citrus as was the flavor which was outstnding filled with grapefruit maybe some chocolatey tones... this was pretty near to perfect best American Ale I believe I've had, although there are alot more to partake of, this stuff was fantastic.

Near perfect. Nice bitter finish. If you like macro brew, stay far far far away from this. This is almost the brew of Satan. Then again, you should meet this beer's cousin...

UPDATED: APR 11, 2004 Beautiful dark amberish color with a hoppy complex nose. Nicely balanced strong flavor in this. Simply amazing stuff.
