Very nice, but as the label says, this one is not for everyone, and it knows it. THe flavor is sharp and bitter, but complex and even as well.

One of my all-time favorites. Dark mahogany color. A strong beer with the perfect blend of sweet malt and hops. Flavor is very deliciously unique putting this beer in a category all its own.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep amber/maroon colour with a well-formed off-white head. Almost barley wine-like in flavour, but not quite as intense in alcohol content. But in flavour it stacks up.

average at best. great marketing, decent beer. hops are not pleasant in this one. a good way to introduce the world to the rest of their range, which is outstanding

The initial aroma and flavor are both very misleading. The flavor is very full and complicated. Every drink reveals a different taste and after-taste. It is very full and tasty!

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. A mahogany red color with a beige head. A red fruit aroma with a dark, rich, grainy, caramel, vineous flavor. A real treat.

Nice solid hop aroma and malt. Nice carbonation and good body to the brew. Flavors balanced in the middle with a strong hop finish. More like an IPA to me. A solid beer for hopheads.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2005 Excellent appearance, strong, flavorful taste, and a 7.2% ABV, how else can you possibly better this situation??? Flavor lasts throughout the drink...fine ale...worth the money
Rerate....when did i rate this..the ice age? Dark appearance, pine in the nose, hint of malts, nuts, and more piney hop coneness. Fizzy active carbonation, mouthfeel is full and thick, lacing evident all around my glass. Dry strong finish, piney and sticky.
