4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Big variety of banana, meat like, melon and nuts, barley and a grapefruit aftertaste, that gives all the varieties again. Nice red dark black color with a small head. Very interesting beer, that numbs lips. ’Keep refrigerated Numbskull!’

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 11, 2007 Excellent beer. I AM worthy. Big bold hops, a some-kind-of-candy aroma. Rerate: seemed a lot more dry than it used to be and somehwat disappointing.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
great beer that lives up to its boast.
ruby brown colour, fluffy beige head that has the texture of whipped cream, sheets of sticky sweet lace.
sweet malty aroma with a plum note.
taste starts of as malt caramel and chocolate, the middle is mellow , fruity and alcoholic, finish is dry and has a surprising hop bite.
A big beer in every sense of the term

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2003 The almost perfect beer. This one suits my desire for hoppy character with a balanced (nice blend of the malt and the hopps for sure)compex but bold and in your face taste. This is definately not for the novice beer drinker as its strenght might be a negative for those accostomed to yellow, watery fizzy beers.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A very deep amber/red colored beer that forms a decent head.
It has an interesting flavor to it. A bit stronger than I like my beers unless they’re heavier to offset the taste of alcohl.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very hoppy, great deep color, and very complex. This is a must try if you haven’t yet.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Wonderful deep red color and a full head demands your attention from the very start. Very well hopped with a somewhat distracting pineapple/fruit aroma. Strong full bodied flavor that asserts this beer’s character. Well made overall, with a good balance of hops and malt. A great brew not to be missed.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2003 Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is heavily hoppy (grapefruit, resin), moderately malty (caramel), with notes of apricot and alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent, lightly alcoholic. Too much grapefruit juice for me, but I can see why hopheads like it.

World-class ale with a dark amber/ruby color.Very well-balanced burnt malt/hop nose with citrus, caramel. What really sets this beer apart is its very unique and silky texture.Intense resinous taste with notes of grapefruit, burnt caramel, some smoke and a good bitter finish.I could’nt think of a better name for this beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 13, 2004 Ok, if you haven't tried this work of genius you absolutely must. It is probably the best beer I've ever tried under 9%abv and certainly one of the most complex brews out there. Hints of mulled cide and caramel abound. Absolutely delicious. 4.7
re-rate (4/12/04): Still a great beer, just not as good as I once thought in my noephite stage of beerdom.
