This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Want to chew a beer? If you are a bud light lover, you will not like this beer. If you however like strong bitter beers, this is your beer. This is definately an agressive beer to quote Greg Koch. One of my personal favs.

Dark red in color. A strong, harsh piney aroma. The bitterness is not balanced well in my opinion, or maybe I'm just getting fed up with beers that pretend to be great through high IBUs. Assertive but not balanced right. Not a big fan of this one.

Good stuff. Skunky aroma, a little bitter, yet easy going. This was very enjoyable to me. I give props to the fine brewers over at Stone for this one. Go so cal!

Wow, the best of the three Stone Brewing Co. beers I've tried. A intersting red amber awaits you as the bottle is poured. A interesting blend of citrus and and other bitter flavors are expierenced. Would recommend this beer to anyone. Thanks mwsf for the Stone's experience.

Pours a nice deep amber color with a nice white head. Aroma of citrus and pine immediately greets you. The flavor has as complex a hop flavor as any beer I can recall. Grass, pine, and citrus hop flavors all blend well on a background of malt sweetness. An excellent beer that hides it's strength well.

Long live the Bastard. Great beer. Just the right amount of hop flavor. Looked great. Poured great.

What can I say? I love hops and this is aggressively hopped. It can be overbearing at times but what hopfiend doesn't like to be bullied by hop intensity.

seriously damn that description shit. if i dont have the sophistication to enjoy the taste of someone shatting in my mouth then thas ok with me. but, one good thing is the percentage is above average, but the price and the taste makes me feel like i paid for someone to crap in my mouth.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2004 Dark brown/red in color, with a large, tan head. Pretty hoppy aroma, with a bit of lime, faint hints of malt, caramel. Flavor is hoppy and slightly bitter throughout, some dark fruit notes, a touch of sweetness early on. A true consistently great brew.
