Ruby orange, off white head. Aroma is hoppy: kiwi, orange, very fuzzy and fruity floral. Flavor is hoppy, fruity, floral and crisp. Almost a bit too sweet and I would prefer more leafy bitterness. joefflin (66), USA

But I remember all of the others had, this one just seemed to be the most forgettable. Just making this rating so I remember I have to try it again. lumpsowers (235), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 29, 2008 Dark copper color, low head, some lacing. Low alcoholic, nutty aroma. Flavor is an alcoholic, with some light chocolate and fruity hops as well. Light mouthfeel for so strong a beer. Low carbonation. Reminds me of an IPA, bitter with sweet fruit undertones. timsilvia32 (446), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Some malt, pine, fuit in the nose. Some malt, fruits, very well balanced. Could have used more malt, roast or sweet. Nice bittering hops, but not too much at all. My friend tried to tell me this was an IPA, I found it somewhere between an ESB and an IPA, with the best of both. I’ve liked some of their darker stuff so far, but this was a little over rated. Not bad, but I’m guessing this has been toned down because of the "up" grade versions. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 29, 2008 In comparison with the oaked version, I would say this is more on par with what I like in a beer. The oaked variety just seemed a bit "muted" compared to this. This pours a dark reddish brown with a dense head, and good retention. The flavor is also on par with what I look for in an ipa, a little bit to smokey for me, but good nontheless. Cheers! Strykzone (1468), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Very nice pour. Dark amber with lots of red. A big head that just does not go away and settles into an uneven tan foam. Aroma is delicious. It offers dark fruit along with roasted malt. Flavor is a bit harsh with plenty of malt and, again, dark fruit. Some tart grapefruit hop shows up. Throw in some coffee, pear, grass, and chocolate, as well. Got somewhat powdery towards the end of the glass. The beer has the attitude of its name and you have got to love that. What a good beer! Jsawyer (282), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
