This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Very nice dark amber-ruby color. Clear with very nice head. Aroma: hops, resin, roasty tones and a bit of basement and raisins. Taste: at first resiny hops, but then hazelnuts, raisins and hondy. Semi sweet, soft carbonated and medium bodied. After a while I can feel some strange tones like: wet towel, and cloves. Nice beer, balanced.

Bottle to glass. Pours a medium brown deep amber color with a light tan head. Aroma is boozy, molasses, dark fruits. Flavor is toasty, caramel. Solid.

Bottle bought at the BeerTemple, thanks to Ster for keeping this aside. Classic red strong ale with thick, moussy, lacing, light yellowish white head and beautifully deep and warm, orangey copper red colour, clear with quiet fizz, misty with deposit. Strong bouquet of caramel, biscuit, persimmon, toast, gingerbread, dried grapefruit peel, spruce needles, nutmeg, roasted pine nuts, bourbon, dried apricot, walnuts, white pepper, dried flowers, hay, pipe tobacco and green tea. Clean fruity onset, crisp, subdued sweetishness with a light salty edge, red berries, orange peel, smooth body with soft carbo, lovely smooth maltiness, caramelly, nutty and very toasted, bittersweet with a long drying finish of firm, peppery, dried citrus-peel and lightly piney hop bitterness, warming the throat along with a dash of bourbon-like alcohol. Very pleasant, smooth, characterful beer, as the ’arrogance’ on the bottle would indeed suggest. Glad I finally tasted this classic.

Festői szépségű ital, ragyogó rubin árnyalattal, küllemre maga a tökély. Lecsengése enyhén száraz, hosszan elnyúló kesernyét adó, egyediséget hirdető végszavú, arrogáns módon vágja a képünkbe, milyen remekbe szabott sörrel is van dolgunk.

Pours dark with full head from bomber. Aroma is strong. Starts easy and builds with bit harsh finish. Complex darker beer than I expected.

Bottled. Nice dark brown taste. Has a sweet malt taste. Has a slight almond after taste. Alright dark ale.

A solid off-white head atop a rich looking deep amber-brown colour. The nose warns of the malt to come, with a touch of citrus hops. Roasted malt is the hallmark of the "Bastard" series. Secondary tastes include rich dark berries, citrus and piney hops, and toffee. Solid richness in the body works well with the soft carbonation. A clean sweetness that isn’t cloying helps smooth it all together. A really great beer, but I am not giving it extra "Rogue" points.

Big tan head, pesistant, nice lace. Dark amber colour, clear, obviously filtered. Caramel, toffee, pine aroma. Stronger pine in the flavour with mild chocolate and strong bitterness. Med-light body with dry finish and lingering bitterness.
