COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Ruby walnut color with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aroma of creamy malt, molasses and sharp, piney hops. Full bodied with dark fruit sweetness and loads of resiny hops. Finishes with a dry creamy malt backbone. This is a strong one and the bitterness is a bit over the top but it’s good.

ENG: 650ml bottle brought from Vancouver, poured into the tulip. Opalescent dark amber color, nice thick but dissipating, beige head. Aromas of hops, a bit tropical fruits, grapefruit, pine and brandy. Also a bit skunky and alcoholic. Tastes malty, hoppy, with hints of roasted caramel. Finishes heavy, smoky tart. A bit too styptic bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation, medium to full body. Overall quite heavy flavors, too smoky / roasty with huge remaining tartiness.

PL: Butelka 650ml przywieziona z jednego ze sklepów w Vancouver, przelana do kieliszka. Opalizująca, ciemno bursztynowa barwa, gęsta lecz opadająca, beżowa piana. Aromaty chmielowe, nieco owoców tropikalnych, grejfrut, sosna, brandy. Także nieco skunksa i alkoholu. W smaku słody, chmiel, z nutami palonego karmelu. Pod koniec ciężkie, wędzone i cierpkie. W posmaku nieco zbyt ściągająca goryczka. Średnie nasycenie, średnie do pełnego odczucie w ustach. Podsumowując dość ciężkie piwo, jak dla mnie zbyt palone / wędzone z ogromną cierpkością pozostającą długo na języku.

(On tap @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Mar 5 2015) Pours clear mahogany with a big dense off white head that lingers with a carpet of lace. Aroma surprisingly sweet and malty with muscovado sugar, raisin, stewed plum, maybe a bit of date. Kind of a soapy hop character, odd. On the palate it is toasted malts with brown sugar, citrus peel, pine resin, almost woody. Dry and mineral in the finish, with moderate bitterness. Lightish body with creamy carb. I don’t know, something about this didn’t blow me away like it should have. The hop character did not totally work for me, and it was both malty and yet thinner than expected. Not bad, but not the world beater its reputation, perhaps somewhat historical, lead me to expect.

Draft. Deep coppery red with thin off white head aroma of malt and dark sugar sharp hop bitterness hit followed by sweeter dark dried fruit richness with bitterness returning Served too cold for my liking.

12 oz pour from refrigerated bottle into tulip glass. Moderate fluffy head. Good retention. Hazy. Amber or ruby in color. Pretty pretty. Nose is rich fruit, a little bit of hops. Taste is aggressive and satisfying. Bitter, strong hops taste. Raisin and fig. A little nutty. Pleasant bitter aftertaste. Overall tasty and aggressive. Would go well with BBQ.

Pours a dark amber brown body with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malts with an inherent earthiness and some spice. Caramel and coffee tastes precede a hop bitter finish. Nice strong punch in the mouth; aggressive, but not offensively so.
