This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Consumed on 4/15/12 - best before 5/22/12 - standard pint glass.Aroma is grapefruit and plenty of it.. The beer is a clear amber color - off white head - sheet of lacing. the taste has great balance, so good. The beer is medium bodied with a silky smooth feel. Overall - fantastic beer!

A rich, assertive but nicely balanced West Coast ale with a quite complex aroma and flavor. Poured with a beige med-sized rocky head that's fairly long lasting; good lacing. Deep amber color with coppery red highlights. Slight chill haze typical of bottle conditioned beers; cleared as the beer warmed. Perfumy floral hop bouquet with underlying citrus-grapefruit notes. Sweet caramel malt nose with a myriad of fruity esters that I was a bit hard pressed to put my finger on; perhaps raisin and plum with a bit of pear? Noticeable alcohol aroma that became more evident as the glass warmed. Flavor starts with a rich malt sweetness and bold hop bitterness that follows through to the finish. Fruity esters emerge mid-palate with a subtle toasty note. Malt richness dries a bit towards the finish but the hop bitterness remains assertive. Palate has a velvety firmness enhanced by a soft carboantion. Very slight astringency in the aftertaste. For all its bold arrogance this brew actually mellows a bit (relatively speaking) as the glass warms making it a nice ale to enjoy at a leisurely pace.

Great appearance...pours a dark red color with nice head. Slight malt flavor and a bitter aftertaste. No distinct aroma to speak of.

from a 22 to a glass to my stomache. drank to much of it though. 4 22s to many as a matter of fact. great beer lots o hops not for the weak fizzy yellow beer drinkers.

Delicious beer. Dark red. Some malt. Hop overload. Oddly smooth. Excellent.

Ruby colored with beige, foamy head. The sweetness from caramel malts dominate the nose and cover most of the hopexplosion of the taste, which is rather piny. The aftertaste is really dry. But a nice, full-bodied, complex beer.

On tap @ProofBrewing. Pours a dark gold, almost amber color with thin white foam head. Mouthful is of citrus hops, grassy, off-sweet caramel malt. Good strong ale, and having it on special for $3 makes it a great find.

I am not worthy of this beer...lol. Love the floral hops and the powerful finish. Great creamy head.

This beer is quite complex for the small price it boasts on the shelf (for all those that think it is expensive, you are as the bottle reads). The slightly toasty caramel malt backbone is superbly balanced with grapefruit citrus hops. Ages well, although I enjoy mine fresh
