This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

This beer will knock you down! I can’t handle more than one 22 oz.A rich dark amber color with a fruity nose.Very hoppy with a nice bite of alcohol. The beer needs to warmed enjoy the complex palate of flavors.Definately worth a try if you can get it.

Of the 4 beers I had this night, this was the least memorable, in fact....im probably going to have to give it another go just to be fair. But I remember all of the others had, this one just seemed to be the most forgettable. Just making this rating so I remember I have to try it again.

Pours a light re-brown with good dense tan head. Strong and assertive aromas of appetizing hops, and dark burnt malt. Full bodied, almost oily, with good carbonation. The taste starts innocently enough with sweat dark malty flavors but the gives way to a giant tidal wave of hop bitterness with a long, lingering strong black coffee and bitter baking chocolate finish. Not for the faint of heart. This is an all hops goliath. Not sure what foods will go with this, this beer pretty much overpowers and bullies everything else.

Pours a deep red with khaki head. There is no question this is a hop heavy brew with pine and some citrus coming through. I also noted a smooth malt aroma. There is a sweet taste that fades and a nice bitterness from the hops comes through that is sustained. This beer becomes quite smooth the further I get into it.

Dark brown with a big, thick head. Smells sweet with toasted malts. A little brown sugar. Hoppy upfront with a very nice sweet finish, a lot of spices in there. Mouthfeel is great with very little carbonation, alcohol does linger some though. Good beer.

Tap. Poured an intriguing reddish brown with a nice tan head and good lacing. Caramel and hops in the aroma. Great flavors with the pronounced hop profile, caramel and a good malt balance. Good bitterness on the finish - not too much but definitely strong.

Great looker. Rich red, nice head. Maltier, nuttier nose than I expected. Somehow, it’s coming off a bit less arrogant and much more sopisticated than expected. Probably my favorite of the Stone big ales so far.

the only other premium beer i had had before this was Delirium Nocturnum and Guinness. oh, can you imagine my surprise? i have to admit it, the bottle is what made me buy it, but the taste is what makes me love it. THIS STUFF IS DANK! i enjoy preceeding a bottle of this with a nice pisswater, just so i can laugh at the difference. does anyone else pick up a nice fruity aftertaste?

Deep, dark red with beautiful head. The malts speak first and quickly make way for a hop extravaganza. Lots of vegetal bitterness in the finish. Like a fast, short roller coaster. Very good.

Bottle. Dark Amber, thick tan head. Hops, caramel, and light citrus/spice. Moderately bitter, sharp and refreshing. Very easy drinking. Love it!
