COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

I loved this one, its got a ball tearer of a flavour, wicked punch after a couple and very drinkable, overall a dangerous one if you get too many at once, easy to keep drinking!!

First thing that hits you is the strong hop aroma, along with a very toasty carmel malt flavor. A very dark red color. Medium carbonation. Flavor is very bitter, but tends to leave you with a good aftertaste. Strong but goes down somewhat smooth. This is one of the best beers to date. Not one for drinking in large quanities, one to enjoyed slowely at the end of a long day.

Aroma at first I did not like but the taste is GREAT. Gotta love the big 1 Pt. bottle and the not so bad alcohol percentage

Greta brewery that I visited on my trip to San Diego. Awesome big huge brew. Loads of hops and a slight alcohol bite yet it was quite pleasing. Rich huge finish.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2014 Don’t believe the naysayers, this beer is not bitter or hoppy at all. Remarkable maltiness and very smooth and drinkable. An amazing beer to behold.

All 'the right stuff' -- looks good, feels good BUT too darn sweet (carmel-like) and REAL heavy. Great conversation piece though and everyone wanted a souvenir bottle to take home with them. BE CAREFUL handing this out to serious beer people ... if you do, have some cigars and a good brandy as a back-up ... or perhaps a stash of Glenlivit 18!

This is a beautiful looking beer- pours ruby brown, with nice carbonation, fluffy tan head, that leaves decent lacing. Aroma is toast with a little fruitiness. Flavor is initial (quick) toast then grapefruit. Finish is strongly bitter, and dry. Mouthfeel throughout is creamy, but a slight bite at the end. Aftertaste of malt and bitters. Wonderful.

Had it on draft at Atlantic Chip Shop in Brooklyn. Great beer to go with a heavy plate of fish and chips. Big hop character and maltiness ending with alcohol notes. My friend said "whoah" after drinking it, but I thought it was really good. The alcohol will definitely get you if you’re not careful. Curious to try a bottle at home where I can give this beer its due attention.

Great beer with a ton of flavor. There is no reason to drink beer that is not made by Stone. My neighbor and myself enjoy these regularly every weekend after we work on our houses.

bottle with a very intimidating name. I found this in a God-forgotten liquor store in central Utah (don’t ask why). This beer was featured on Diggnation, so I was very excited to try it (kinda; Kevin Rose hated this). First sip was like a punch in the crotch; clearly, something has gone wrong in this brew. However, the subsequent tests proved that I was wrong. The flavor is like nothing else; its sweet and malty, and it took me a couple of ounces to figure it out. Very complex flavor, each sip is a separate experience. Not very carbonated. A very unique beer. High alcohol content, I was buzzed after drinking the whole bottle.
