This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Truly delish. Got me started on arrogant beverages and still the go to for single serving hop blasting. Not my favourite, but close

Bottled on 09/11/15. Aroma malty, fruity. Taste bread crust, caramel, strong grapefruity bitterness. Balance is on the bitter side, maybe too old already? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Caramel, resin, butterscotch, alcohol, whisper of coffee, some raisin, grapefruit, powerful. Ruby colour, small beige head, lacing. Big bite, medium/heavy sweetness, lightly salty, ABV well integrated, some earthy dark fruit. Medium body, small lively bubbles, heavy bitter finish. Are Stone even Capable of making anything but a world class brew?

Can. Pours a deep, deep red-amber with a high, mixed-grained, light tan, blown-insulation head. Nose is subdued because of the overly aggressive head, but has caramel, spice, wheat toast, and dark fruit notes. It starts out caramel sweet, then kicks in with a burnt sugar and licorice bitterness that counters the sweetness nicely. The carbonation is low, so there’s a definite syrupy element to this beer. However...this is nowhere near as badass as it pretends to be. It’s a big, heavy, bittersweet beer, yes, but it’s not out of the ordinary. In this case, the arrogance may be a bit misplaced. Tasty, though.

Pours deep amber with sticky head. Aroma is bready malt, very earthy, with notes of treacle, piney hops, and spice. Taste is bitter upfront, fading to a more balanced toffee, caramel and grassy middle before returning to the bitter hops. Contrary to a couple of other reviews, I found this to be significantly better as it warmed. Not bad, but probably wouldn't buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
