COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

A - Pours a cloudy dark amber copper with a 2 finger foamy off-white head with excellent retention. S - Fresh grapefruit citrus, earthy pine, plums, toasted malt T - A bounty of fresh grapefruit rushes in with huge flavor and bitterness. A resiny pine shows up towards the finish. The caramel malt has a roasted fruit character and provides just enough sweetness to counteract the complex hops. Aftertaste is nutty and bitter with the malt still lingering on the palate. M - Full bodied with good carbonation. A citrus wonderland along with a carameled fruit malt makes mouth happy. Complex hop profile that keep going and going. Just an awesome brew. 220z bottle...I realize that this is now a classic and that there was a time that this was ’edgy’ beer...not anymore. Today this stuff is barely average. Overly sweet and sticky with zero hop high notes - only enough bitterness to balance some of the sweetness. First time I’ve had this in years and hopefully it will be awhile until I have another.

650 ML bottle Non grey so yay! Dark crimson color, light tan head. Good head that falls to a thick collar. Nose is caramel, pine, citrus and biscuit. Well balanced nose. Forward and backward bitterness. Smoothed out by the caramel. Lots of pine, grapefruit and citrus. Medium bodied, slightly sweet and very well balanced. Classic beer from the US for what it represented

(Tap) Really nice aroma and flavor! Just, a little too bitter and astringent aftertaste.

Draft. Beautiful red appearance. Very easy to drink red ale. Solid in every category.

Pours a bubbly dark mahogany with a lovely large foamy off-white head. Aroma is a near-perfect blend of fresh citrus hops, roasted malt, caramel and spices. Flavour follows the aroma but the hops are more upfront.

Tap @Brewdog Shepherds Bush. Clear, dark red brown. Frothy offwhite head. Malty, earthy, toffee aroma. Flavour has malt, caramel. Bitter and slightly boozy finish.

More like a red ale to me. Strong, rich malty flavor with a moderate amount of sweetness and the caramel/toffee you’d expect from a red ale. Also wet on the tongue and moderate alcohol. Moderate citrus and pine hops as well as maybe a bit herbal.
