This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

I've only recently been introduced to The Stone Brewing Company. That said, from the very first sip I knew I was not a typical brew. It wasn't even a typical craft brew. My initial response to a Stone Brewing Company product was "Wow, I think this might be the best beer I've ever tasted!". That was the Stone IPA. This is my first try of Arrogant Bastard Ale and after my taste buds stopped screaming "Uncle!", my response was "Ahh, Seven Hells, that's good!!". The first thing that caught my attention was smell. I knew then that Fate, that sultry mistress with the warm hand and sensible footwear had pushed us together and I was truly in for a treat. The rich head on this beer is the equivalent of a steak dinner at the Buckhorn Exchange. Once the beer hits your tongue it's like a cacophony of flavors. It takes your mind a few seconds to catch up with it. This beer is almost too good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap. Clear amber with tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, bread, heavy hoppy. Sweet caramel flavour, berries, herbal hoppy bitter finish

Aroma has richness of malts, caramel, wood and some fruits. Taste has strong malts, caramel, some roasted and some herbs. A bitter and slight harsh ending. Good,

[Can. German edition] Aroma is dominated by caramel and some roasted malts with earthiness in the background. Reddish amber in the glass with sparkling structure. Tan foam, good lacing. The long bitterness settles on the palate. Dried fruits and coffee cherries at the finish. Really disappointing.

Dit is een straf bier, maar dat belooft het zelf al op het blik. Aroma: koffie en zuidvruchten. Smaak: hoog bittergehalte en wat rook. Ook een aangename zoete fruitige laag.

Can at csakajo. Dark reddish amber/mahagony colour with a small white fast disscipating head. Nose is soy saucy, light molasses. Taste is medium bitterness that turns into a high lingering bitterness. Nice hoppy red ale.

Heard a lot so had to give it a go and wow, Massive from every angle, Sweetness on the nose, and big rich complex mouth feel with a long bitter finish. Not for a wussie :-)

Tap at l’express de lyon in Paris. Strong and quite bitter beer but suprisingly medium bodied. Coffee and roasted malt flavors mixed with dry fruits and a touch of nuts

Bomber pours a cloudy dark amber with a one finger beige head and abundant lacing. Aroma is grassy, earthy, caramel sweetness. Flavor is primarily chocolate and coffee. Leaves a bitter aftertaste that lingers. This one’s OK but not really my thing.
