COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably wont like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Bottle. Deep reddish brown color. Aroma is brown sugar, resin. Taste is licorice, bubblegum, dank hops. Bitter, alcoholic aftertaste. All these are good things. Very well crafted brew.

Brown. Hints of red. Off-white head. Malt, wort, hop and alcohol nose. Sweet. Some bitterness. High carbonation. A bit lower than medium body, which is a bit too thin for this beer in my opinion. Pine, citrus, malt, some wort, hint of metal aroma.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish brown with a big lasting beige head that leaves great lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and grass. Medium body, medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter taste, soft carbonation, flavors follow the nose with the addition of citrus and spruce bitterness. Finish starts sweet and ends bitter. Wonderfully balanced and complex.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2014 Aptly named marque brew that is full bodied, brilliantly balanced, and a definitive benchmark of the style.

Arrogant Bastard is much as it's written on the back of the bottle. It's a delicious, up front ale that steps up and satisfies. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of the best beers. i admit Im a little biased, Stone is my favorite Brewery, but with good reason, they make awesome beer.

Ar: Zesty orange, juicy - some faint toasted caramel. Ap: Deep amber-red, clear - large tan head with good retention, leaves foam trail and a solid cap. T: Orange, peace, and toasted caramel - some light roast, high bitterness - grapefruit and lemon - resiny, thick hop flavor - rich caramel backbone that is sweet up front, but never becomes cloying. P: Medium-full body with high carbonation - finish is dry. O: Really nice strong, hoppy American red ale - great depth of caramel flavor with big, bright hop notes.

Scent of malt, toffee, and yeast. Clear ruby colour. Bitter front with notes of nuts, roasted malt, toffee, and hops. Quite strong, but equally tasty.

Although I am quite new to drinking brews and having the desire to learn and try new brews, this is one of my favorites. The bottle top is so true "Hated by many, loved by few." Not many can handle the high IBU, id guess around 80-83. But for me the aroma gives off the hint of a lager or low IBU brew. Great brew, loved being able to drink just one Pt! Cheers

After reading about it so much online, i have been really wanting to try this brew, picked up a bottle from the bottle shop in HK, and had it with some Hunan food in Shenzhen, which it pair very well with. I agree the lingering dry bitterness might not be for all, but for me it was so smooth with the right about of malt sweetness, cant wait to have more of it
