COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably wonít like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

This beer is more of an acquired taste. The second time i tried it I liked it more than the first time. A great gag gift to someone who only drinks mainstream beer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle with a Best By date of 11/17/2014. Aroma is sweet with some nuttiness, moderate toasted bread, caramel and toffee. Moderate hop notes with pine resin and grapefruit. Light fruit esters. Pours a cloudy, copper, burnt amber with some brown hues and a small, light tan head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges. Medium light lacing and medium legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with some caramel and toasted bread with a light nuttiness. Light toffee notes as well. Moderately strong to strong bitterness. Medium light hop flavor, mostly pine resin but also some grapefruit. Some light alcohol notes. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but way maltier than the hoppy beers I prefer to drink. Malt profile isnít too bad, and the hops work with it well. Is suppose for what it is, its pretty nice.

Bottled. Enjoy by date is 08/19/14. A month past its date but oh well. chestnut dark brown color with nice dark beige colored creamy head. Notable lacing. Aroma is malty, citrus, hops, piney, slight earthiness, sweet malts, biscuit maltiness. Flavor is orange, citrus hops, caramely, lots of sweet maltiness. Nice dark fruits in the middle of the mouth. Noticeably bitter finish. Nice mouthfeel as well. Really creamy.

22oz bomber from liquor store on 101 in Encinitas. Great brew, a little too much hops for style for me....donít get me wrong but I love hops but reserve it for IPAs great malts just a little too hop centric for an ASA.

22 oz bottle from Albertsonís in Hillsboro, OR. Aroma has hints of raisins, cloves, and leather. Mouthfeel is creamy, smooth, and sweet at first, then bitterness takes over and lasts long into the finish and aftertaste. Definitely worth repeating.
