This is an aggressive beer. You probably wonít like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2015 Pours beautiful amber brown color, almost glowing. Light head that collapses. Aroma is light hops, dark fruit, some sweetness/caramel. Roasted malts up front with dry hoppy flavor on the end, Some dark fruit, alcohol, wood, sweetness. Smooth with a lingering bitterness. This is very complex as stated. Medium to full palate. Excellent. Reality re-rate: first time having this 5 years. What a difference good beer makes. This is a solid hoppy red ale. Middle road at best. -7

(Bottle) rich orange amber, light tan head and great lacing. Nose of big citrus fruits, caramel, huge aromatic hops. Taste of very bitter citrus oils, this is not balanced in the least. Some malt backbone but very little. This is all bitter hops. Creamy and oily mouthfeel buy extremely bitter finish.

Clear reddish brown pour with off white head. Rich and robust! Smooth to bitter in the mouth with strong roasted malt flavor and the tinge of alcohol. Excellent strong ale.

Purchased on my trip to Nashville. Pours a clean copper colour with a very nice creamy off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves thick lacing. I was expecting a hopbomb from the deScription and all the writing on the bottle. Nope. Yes, hop is present everywhere, but I have tasted IPA hoppier than this. I guess it is more on the alcohol content. Yes, this beer is smooth for 7.2% ABV with no burns. Hoppy here, hoppy there, but not in a dry way. Kind of watery mouthfeel. Maybe a little tart. Still refreshing overall and worth trying.

I poured a pint from a 22, and I gotta say, it was bitter, very bitter. While I got the other flavors from it, it just was bitter, add had a very dry bitter after taste. I have been a fan of the oaked version of this beer, which I found to be a lot smoother, I have to chalk this experience up to the beer being old or slightly skunked. That being said, I still enjoyed the flavor while drinking the brew.

Pours a copper color with a medium head. VERY strong and hoppy. Some sweet notes to counter the aggressiveness.

Bottle. Pours a dark orangey amber with a medium off white head. Aroma and flavor are dominated by the piney hops, but thereís quite a bit of caramel malt and some dark fruit. Doesnít achieve a balance -- itís too bitter for that -- but it is complex and interesting. Long bitter finish. Thick, resinous mouthfeel.

Bottle. Hazy coppery dark brown with a light tan head. Toffee, light gapefruit, some sweet malts, dark fruits, and booze in the aroma. Quite balanced, and leans maltier with substantial dark fruitiness, toffee, but finishes pretty dry with iight grapefruit and grassy hops. Medium body with spritzier carbonation.

Pours a nice dark amber. Fairly good-sized head. Lots of citrus and bitter hops in aroma and flavor. Bitterness almost a bit too pronounced. Could use some other flavors for balance. Not quite up to the level of their promos of it, but it isnít bad.
