This is an aggressive beer. You probably wonít like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

A good beer, though I was expecting more from it. Very hoppy yet pretty smooth. Itís a good beer with lots of hops!

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2007 Pours a deep vermillion with moderate carbonation, a slight haze and capped with a full, tan head. Heavily malted nose with an alcohol presence that canít be covered. Pepper, pine and tart citrus show in both aroma and flavor. Peaty and dry for the most part, with a heavy palate.

Agressive? Indeed. Sophisticated? Not really... it is what it is... a strong ale with heavy-handed PNWs, high IBUs and thick malts to back them up. Iíd call it a DIPA. The "arrogance" implied thru its flavor-text was probably considered a sweeeeeeeet marketing technique, but it annoyed the f*ck out of me. Iíll drink this if itís offered but Iím not going to seek it out... Iím "not worthy", donít you know. If I truly want an arrogant bastard, Iíll call my buddy Gene.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2007 Brought back from CA by a friend. Malt and hop mix of an aroma. Dark orange color. Medium off white head. A mix off bitter hops and malt start it off. Finishes with a nice hop bitterness.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2008 22oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a dark reddish brown with a nice 1 finger light tan head that dissipates to a light covering, but retains to the bottom of the glass. Excellent lacing. Aroma is okay...something about it is a little off for me though. Flavor is nice with grapefruit, piney hops. Somewhat sweet, moreso as it warms. Little bit of alcohol kick, but not too bad. Smooth, full mouthfeel without too much carbonation. A strong beer, it certainly gets your attention...

Nicely well rounded ale here. Sweetness, freshness, sourness and palate. Solid, though not outstanding in any one aspect.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2007 A very flavorful brew that is very potent. A strong hoppy aroma with a nice brownish, redish color. Canít drink too many of these but a great beer to be enjoyed slowly. Iím not a huge fan of the MASSIVE amount of hops they have put into this.

Deep chestnut colour, small yellowish head. USA C-hops, dry cookies, bitter almonds aromas. Hops cake instead of space cake. Sweet cake bottom, and again, over and over, just dried hops. Bit of wood, drenched in hops oil and a bit of molasses, spatted with orange marmalade. Medium bodied, lip-sticking ending. A classic, but since I tasted this as one of my first Westcoast bigíunes, better have come up.

3rd LCRBM. Earthy, oily, citric hops in the aroma. Oily, very hoppy flavor. Red berries and lemon. Long raw hopbitter aftertaste. Doesnít leave room for much other flavor, still a likeable beer.

Oct. 2005 - I can see the thrill here. Thereís a lot of hops, a lot of malt, a lot of alcohol taste. I donít know...with all that taste, I just didnít like the WAY it tasted. Too sweet (alcohol sweet) and whatever that hop taste was, I didnít like it. It reminded me of a toned down in terms of sweetness DFH 120m IPA, but with more bitterness. I guess Iím not worthy.

Bomber - Poured a quite dark reddish brown on color with a hefty off-white head. Some nice lacing. Aroma was fruity... cherries, dark fruit... with a hint of the hops to come. Flavor was massively complex, as other raters have pointed out. The flavor profile definitely changed as the brew went down and as the beer warmed. Many flavor impressions... dark fruit, brown sugar/caramel, fruity hops, sour citrus... all with the undercurrent of alcohol warmth. I really liked this beer and I am positive that it will taste different to me the next time I experience this challenge.
