COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

This beer just doesn’t do it for me. Maybe I have something against hype, as this beer is hyped a lot, but it just tastes harsh and unpleasant to me. Sorry, guys. I do like your IPA quite well, however.

Amber brown opaque body with a tan head. Aroma of citrus pine and hops. Taste is biter and sweet matching the aroma. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bottle. Powerful stuff - pours deep amber with a frothy off-white head. Great nose, all caramel and malts with a whiff of pine and citrus. The flavors are big - big malts, big hops, cedar and pine, long bittering finish. Overall outstanding beer.

Very hazy amber orange color with nice fluffy beige head. Hops, floral, caramel, vanilla. Lots of caramel, nice bitter hops, spruces, vanilla. American Strong like it’s supposed to taste.

On tap at Miller’s Ale House in PBG. Finally, they serve something drinkable. Dark amber body. I didn’t really check for clarity because this beer just isn’t much to look at. It’s gotta be said that it isn’t pretty. It looks the way it’s supposed to, I guess. Strangely, I never seem to get a lot of aroma from AB. I get the hops first. Mostly grapefruit. Maybe a bit floral. Behind that I get roasted malts with some caramel. It’s not a strong or complex aroma. Taste is a bit of grapefruit hop at the start, followed by some malt. Caramel malt, but not sweet. Toasty. Extremely bitter finish. Well carbonated. Enough body to help the malt flavor linger until the finish. Not syrupy, though. I’ve always found this beer defies characterization, but I usually enjoy it.

Pours a dark amber from the bottle, good rich caramel and vanilla smell, rich flavor, slightly boozy. Good beer.

1pt 6 fl oz bottle from Brewdog online store. Brown coppery amber colour, foamy off-white head leaving lacing and aroma of malt, light spicy hop. Taste is bready malt, grainy with tangy drying woody bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry lingering earthy bitter finish. Quite OK.

Smoky, dark pour. Undercurrent of chocolate with ripe malt notes. Soft carbonation. Seems unbalanced compared to other Stone beers.

Great price point for a high quality beer. Notes of tobacco and light smoke. Excellent mouthfeel/effervescence. Fascinating, impressively dark color for this ale.
