COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Sometimes you’re just in the mood for a ballsy beer. You don’t want delicate. You don’t care about subtle shifts in flavor as it lingers on your tongue. You’re not going to concentrate on ballerinaesque transitions from nose to palate to finish. But you still want damn good beer. And you want it to slap you around a bit (like that night...um...). Arrogant Bastard is the very best of this kind of brew--one of the sure classics--and easily one of the best values in beerhistory.

Red clear light tan head. Loads of malt and spicy hops. Flavor malty and very hoppy. Very rich and not sweet as some malty big beers are.

50cl bottle served in a pint glass. Pours dark amber/red with a nice light tan head with good retention. Aroma is massive hoppiness and flowery notes. Taste is more of the same backed with malt but not so much as to detract from the party piece which is clearly the hops. Grapefruit, pine and all the usual suspects are evident in this with both sweetness and bitterness vying for supremacy - although the puckering bitterness wins hands down. One of my favourites.

Bottle from bursprak. Many thanks! Dark amber/red colour, beige foam. Medium carbonation. Sweet aroma of caramel, dried fruit and pine. Hoppy finish. Sweet and light bitter. Ok beer.

Beautiful looking brew - deep, clear garnet topped with sticky off-white head. Smells of citrus, caramel and alcohol. Flavors are bold indeed - pine and grapefruit leaving a lasting, heavy bitterness.

Rating number 800. Mahogany colour, off white head. Aroma of caramel, wet wood, not a lot of the aroma actually. Taste is light sweet, very bitter, the aftertaste is not very plesant, is astrengent as fuck. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. I guess I was expecting a lot. A bit of a let down...

220z bottle...I realize that this is now a classic and that there was a time that this was ’edgy’ beer...not anymore. Today this stuff is barely average. Overly sweet and sticky with zero hop high notes - only enough bitterness to balance some of the sweetness. First time I’ve had this in years and hopefully it will be awhile until I have another.

650 ML bottle Non grey so yay! Dark crimson color, light tan head. Good head that falls to a thick collar. Nose is caramel, pine, citrus and biscuit. Well balanced nose. Forward and backward bitterness. Smoothed out by the caramel. Lots of pine, grapefruit and citrus. Medium bodied, slightly sweet and very well balanced. Classic beer from the US for what it represented

(Tap) Really nice aroma and flavor! Just, a little too bitter and astringent aftertaste.
