tagz (304), USA May 17, 2008 bottle. pours deep orange red with a sizable off white head. leaves plenty of lace. aroma is lemony and resinous hops. taste is very smooth. low carbonation, creamy malt backbone, and a moderate bitter hop. no hint of the high abv. sweetness is held in check just enough by the hops to keep from being cloying. spicy hops become more distinct as you drink. mmm.
chokmah33 (100), Bremerton, Washington, USA Aug 20, 2008 Aromas of floral citrus hops and a clean solvent like burn. Fruits include raspberry, plum, apricot, pineapple and pear. Malt is in the background.
Sweet and woody flavor, with fruits hitting up front. Good hops dose straightens it out in the mid. Mildly bitter bisquit and chocolate finish. Some nuttiness, kind of reminds me of a brown.
Syrupy texture, astringent mouthfeel. Fairly heavy, zesty palate with white wine bite. urnamesucks (63), New York City, New York, USA Aug 20, 2008 The label doesn’t joke around. Probably one of the strongest ales I’ve ever drank. I pounded one and after I stood up I was like no way I’m tipsy already but I was. fata2683 (17), APO, New York, USA Aug 20, 2008 When I read "you probably won’t like it" I knew I was in for something, but something this good, didn’t even cross my mind. What a HUGE ale. Get some! travita (707), Lewisville, Texas, USA Aug 19, 2008 Amber to red in colored with a nice tan head. Smell is strong in hops with some pine and fruit notes coming through. Taste has medium bitterness rounded out by some malts and a little fruit. NoiZe (875), Zeist, Netherlands Aug 17, 2008 Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
Amber, brown colored brew. Sweet malty with some hops. Some hops and fruits and bitterness in the flavor. Good be more balanced.
