Cruzan59 (122), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 26, 2008 22oz single from Total Wine, River Edge, NJ...pours a nice deep bronze color with a light beige head...nice rich floral aroma with orange-tangerine and pine...taste includes the same with malts and a crisp hoppy presence...smooth mouthfeel and good lacing on the glass...I have to disagree with cheapdark, I liked it...a lot. :o)
beer1911 (3), USA does not count Jul 22, 2008 Great beer. Very bitter and grassy with the first sip. The hops stays with you for a few seconds after you swallow. If you look at this beer with a light it has alot of crap flaoting in it (probably pure hops or ground grass) This beer is not for beginers. Whenever i have a little extra beer money i always buy a few of these. Oh and i like to put it in the freezer until just before it starts to slush then drink it (aaaawesome!). DrDavid (19), , Vermont, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Deep red color. Big dark head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma very clean and refreshing. Flavor smacks you upside the head with initial licorice, then widens to inscrutable complexity, braced by prominent alcohol. Finishes very bitter. Overall, very nice. Goes well with cheese and lasagna. t4h2c0 (50), seattle, USA Jul 22, 2008 This used to be my base beer until they raised the price. Pours a dark red and has a strong malty nose. k It used to be a kick in mouth for me but now it goes down like water. Overall, a great beer. This beer seems stronger than 7.2% abv giving the fact at how quick it can fuck you up. Definte boozy tatse to this beer, very complex. I would call it an Imperial Amber ale. ABA bitches!!!!!!!!! Avatar (62), Gliwice, Poland Jul 21, 2008 Bottle. Beautiful, thick, orange big head. The aroma is stunning - so fruity and citrus, sweet. Very deep flavour with pleasantly dry end. Lot of hops and so ’juicy’ as well.
But I hate it! Why should I care?! MrChopin (118), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours mahogany with small white head. Nose is hop-bomb buried beneath some malts; citrus, peach, caramel, and pine rule the nose, a slight sweetness emerging within this combination. Flavor is a little sweeter but still with lots of hop. A little sticky and bitter. A good brew for serious hop-lovers.
