COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably wonít like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Dermis (20) - Monona, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 28, 2002
Very dark amber with nice head upon pour. VERY nice flowery aroma from the hops. Verry bitter in the first sip. Leaving the classic sting on the sides of your tongue (as good strong ales do). The more you sip it mellows out in one of the most balanced ales Iíve tasted. First a sting of bitter then a plesant sweet and fruity taste finishing off with with that long lasting after taste I love about ales. I definately rate this as one of the best beers Iíve tasted. You will be amazed for shure for an American Ale.

Nice, classic, American strong ale with a strong hop presence. Dark brown pour from bomber, malty front, hoppy finish.

Deep amber/caramel look, foamy pale brown head about index finger width that lingers, with good lacing. Bitter, but not harsh aftertaste, which follows a very slight malty first impression. Hoppy like an IPA. Resin aftertaste is the best I can come up with. Good feel in the belly.

(backlog recollected in abstinence) Shared tap pitcher, shared at Pork Slope, Brooklyn 09/2012.Thanks to Steve and John for taking us here!). Welcome palate rinser after an evening of bbq-sauce clad swine debauchery. Comes complete with the signature Stone palate cleaver hop profile, heavy on spruce and citric rind astringent bitterness (going on flowery, green resins) - at that clinically clean, yet from tap mercifully mellowed out by a solid and crisp pale malt randiance. Not necessarily an ideal subtle aperitif, but very well made.

Beautiful beer reach deep color. Aroma is floral hops. Taste is indeed aggressive with a strong hop flavor throughout accented by small roasty notes

This is my go-to beer for everyday enjoyment. Itís got the bitterness of a really good IPA, but also has body and smoothness. The nose is wonderful, and the aftertaste is forever. The only minor flaw is that the head is just a little too bubbly and doesnít last quite as long as one might like. Now that itís in the local Costco, there is absolutely ZERO reason to experiment around. For a quiet evening at home, this is THE ONE.

Bottle. Deep reddish brown color. Aroma is brown sugar, resin. Taste is licorice, bubblegum, dank hops. Bitter, alcoholic aftertaste. All these are good things. Very well crafted brew.

Brown. Hints of red. Off-white head. Malt, wort, hop and alcohol nose. Sweet. Some bitterness. High carbonation. A bit lower than medium body, which is a bit too thin for this beer in my opinion. Pine, citrus, malt, some wort, hint of metal aroma.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish brown with a big lasting beige head that leaves great lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and grass. Medium body, medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter taste, soft carbonation, flavors follow the nose with the addition of citrus and spruce bitterness. Finish starts sweet and ends bitter. Wonderfully balanced and complex.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2014 Aptly named marque brew that is full bodied, brilliantly balanced, and a definitive benchmark of the style.

Arrogant Bastard is much as it's written on the back of the bottle. It's a delicious, up front ale that steps up and satisfies. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
