COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an aggressive beer. You probably wonít like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth.

Pours a dark amber copper with medium white head, lacing minimal. Aroma strong of hops (a nice balance, no particular one evident), pine, and heavy malt balance. Flavor is quite pleasant, the malt balances and makes it more complex than I was expecting. Nice change from the IPAs, stouts, browns, and barley wines. 22oz is a bit too much in one sitting though, 12oz is good enough.

Pours a dark, mahogany type amber showing carbonation and has a white bubbly head thatís almost non existent. Smells of sweet hops, lightly roasted malt, kind of a metal drum smell like a red ale but smells like a beer Iíd drink. Enjoy by 5/24/14 drank on 4/23. Packs a hop punch but not a huge one. Has a slightly heavy mouth-feel and just about a perfect light carbonation. You kind of get a mix of alcohol and hoppy taste but not overpowering at all, then it quickly subsides with a dry finish. A Classic

This has become a Classic and good go-to beer, just not sessionable. It does tiptoe very close to the IPA line. Nice blend of hops and caramel malt aromas. Amber color that looks almost like some Belgian strong ales. Palate is full and somewhat weighty with high carbonation. Hops are up front but immediately followed but a caramel malt sweetness . Grainy flavors with bread and a dry finish round it out. A must try.

Interesting blast of bitterness out of the bomber. Then....as if by magic it disappears. Then its enjoyable and I could imagine ordering another if I were at a bar. Cool deep copper color nice head thatís thin but hangs right in there. Not too shabby...Probably great with grilled meats, would buy again.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. Clear, dark amber. Pale tan, thin, tight, lasting head. Looks boss. Bitter dark cherry chocolate. In a glass. With a head on it. Lovely.

Sweet nose with hints of chocolate. Alcohol in the taste with a bitter finish. Well balanced with piney hop notes. Would definitely repeat but only on certain occasions.

Nice, classic, American strong ale with a strong hop presence. Dark brown pour from bomber, malty front, hoppy finish.

Deep amber/caramel look, foamy pale brown head about index finger width that lingers, with good lacing. Bitter, but not harsh aftertaste, which follows a very slight malty first impression. Hoppy like an IPA. Resin aftertaste is the best I can come up with. Good feel in the belly.

(backlog recollected in abstinence) Shared tap pitcher, shared at Pork Slope, Brooklyn 09/2012.Thanks to Steve and John for taking us here!). Welcome palate rinser after an evening of bbq-sauce clad swine debauchery. Comes complete with the signature Stone palate cleaver hop profile, heavy on spruce and citric rind astringent bitterness (going on flowery, green resins) - at that clinically clean, yet from tap mercifully mellowed out by a solid and crisp pale malt randiance. Not necessarily an ideal subtle aperitif, but very well made.

Beautiful beer reach deep color. Aroma is floral hops. Taste is indeed aggressive with a strong hop flavor throughout accented by small roasty notes

This is my go-to beer for everyday enjoyment. Itís got the bitterness of a really good IPA, but also has body and smoothness. The nose is wonderful, and the aftertaste is forever. The only minor flaw is that the head is just a little too bubbly and doesnít last quite as long as one might like. Now that itís in the local Costco, there is absolutely ZERO reason to experiment around. For a quiet evening at home, this is THE ONE.
