Is there a reson this doesn’t come up as "Stone" Arrogant Bastard Ale? [A] Very simple. Caramel. Citrus hops. Some fruitiness. [A] A very nice looking pour. Amber brown body with tan head. [F] Lots of citrus and crystal malt. Hoppiness overpowers most of the body here. Some fruit. [P] Hoppy. And not hard to drink. I wouldn’t call this a session beer. But the bitter would keep me coming back. Mild-bodied. Smooth, yet prickly mouth. [O] Overall, I don’t really feel this is a "great" ale. It is nice. But lacking complexity. Just a bitter bomb from the west coast.

(Tap) Really nice aroma and flavor! Just, a little too bitter and astringent aftertaste.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a bubbly dark mahogany with a lovely large foamy off-white head. Aroma is a near-perfect blend of fresh citrus hops, roasted malt, caramel and spices. Flavour follows the aroma but the hops are more upfront.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
More like a red ale to me. Strong, rich malty flavor with a moderate amount of sweetness and the caramel/toffee you’d expect from a red ale. Also wet on the tongue and moderate alcohol. Moderate citrus and pine hops as well as maybe a bit herbal.

Old rating. Bomber from Old Town. Pours a nice clear amber with a medium-sized beige head. Citrus, pine, caramel, toffee, molasses aromas present on the nose. Medium body with bitter overtones and a hint of sweetness of the palate. Nice carbonation. Nice big dry bitter finish. A classic from Stone.

On tap at Beertown, Waterloo. Stone! At Beertown! Earthy and lightly citrus aroma. Earthy, smoky, caramel, intensly bitter. Light citrus taste too. Boozy and bitter finish.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a beautiful dark mahogany color. Nice creamy head with plenty of lacing. Aroma of pine, tropical fruit, apple, tobacco and syrup. Tastes of mass amounts of caramel balanced by the hops. Everything is working in concert. Definitely well crafted. Finish is abrupt and astringent. A wonderful beer indeed.
