@ Royal Oak Twerton. Dead looking dull straw. Herbal and quite spicy hop character. Flat body, but with a fairly rich hop profile that starts woody/mossy but becomes juicier towards the finish.

21st January 2011 On tap at the Rake. Clear gold beer, tiny white head. Light semi crisp and semi dry palate. Nice light beer with a touch of creamy malt. Nice vibrant citrus orange with a blooming bitterness. Crisp finish. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Great flavour for it’s modest abv.

Cask @ Royal Oak. Bright gold, no head. Not particularly attractive. Crisp aroma suggests a summer ale. Orchard fruit and some floral hops. Nothing exciting. Hint of acetone. Flavors are better--dry, earthy, spicy with toasted dandelion root and a good crisp hop finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath, winter festival 21/02/09. The pump clip stated the ABV was 4.2%. Pale amber with a decent white head. Sweet malty aroma, with some cherries and grassy hops. Flavour also began with a touch of sweet caramel before a big bitter finish. Pretty good.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2011
Cask, gravity, at the Pig ’n’ Falcon, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, in the Bank Holiday Extravaganza Beer Festival ’11. Gold with a small white head. Grainy aroma of dusty barns and crushed egg-boxes. Taste has slight grainy sweetness and masses of cardboard. I found this interesting if not an unqualified hit.
