3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Gravity at British Craft Beer Challenge. Light yellow blonde colour, thin head. Vanilla smell. Strong initial vanilla taste, a bit like vanilla white chocolate, gives way to a bitter hop finish. Interesting idea, very glad I tried it. I thought it didn’t quite fit together, the Indian found it a little flat - it was a bit lacking in carbonation which maybe would have helped, just needed a bit more zing or life to bring it to life.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle; pours pale yellow, no head; looks unenticingly flat; vanilla aroma is pleasant though; vanilla - as advertised - dominates the flavour at first, then an unpleasant leafy/woody undercurrent wells up to the surface; watery mouthfeel; carbonation soft to flat; some earthy/leafy hops and bitterness to lift things a little; an odd, unusual but ultimately very disappointing beer; bottling problems at what seems to be a well-regarded small outfit?

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Golden color with white head. Aroma of caramel and a bit of vanilla. Very light body. A light creamy vanilla sweetness gives way to medium bitterness. Vanilla flavor is a bit odd, although not overpowering, but the long bitter finish rescues it.

Euston Tap. Hazy gold beer, little white head. Palate is crisp but very dry. Taste is light citrus. Whisper of sulphur. Lots of dry vanilla. Finishes minerally dry. Hats off for trying something different but unfortunately the end result is a mess.
