3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask@lychgatetavern, wolverhampton. Amber colour, small head. Aroma of yeast and citrus. Taste is Orange peel, spices, pineapple and grapefruit. Not as good as the American ipas but decent compared to most English ipas.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Teign Cellars. Fresh nose with cereal notes and some candy and citrus. Pours like a homebrew and looks a bit over-carbed. Flavour is dry and hoppy with some orange peel and a strong underpinning bitterness. Finishes long and dry. Ok, but not on a par with a lot of the American and more progressive English brews out there.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at The Angel, Manchester. 5.Jul.2012
Rusty clear body, spare creamy head. Citrus, ginger, malt, but not very strong aroma. The taste is like a shot though. Ginger and chilli. Absolutely interesting, but the chilli is too overwhelming. Great beer if you caught a cold or have a sore throat. Proves that there is a beer for every occasion!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hand pulled at Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Smells like furniture polish. Taste is exactly as Lea says below - stewed pear, plus caramel and biscuit. Some sticky strength and perhaps lemon. Not bad.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On cask at The Euston Tap. Pours a golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of yeast, lemon and caramel. Similar flavours and mildly bitter with a dry finish. I was expecting this to be hoppier.

Cask, half pint at The Angel. Crystal clear amber in body appearance. Low creamy white head. Aroma of citrus and ginger. Mix of citrus and ginger in flavour followed by the chili part. Cool cleanser, strange IPA (Manchester, 05.07.2012).

Nice light citrus and fruitieness. Some sweet malt, with little to no bitter. Alright, but not memorable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Attractive golden color with an off-white head. The nose is quite sweet, with citrus and grassy notes. There’s a woodiness to this nose that reminds of of a saison. The taste is nicely hoppy, with some spicy black pepper notes, the finish is long and sharp. The mouthfeel’s medium, the carbonation lively. Monkey IPA’s a nice, hop-forward brew that’s just a little grizzled around the edges.
