Cask at the Pig’s Ear BF 2010. Ruby-gold pour with a light film. Rich malts, toast and dark, citrus hops in the aroma. Medium to big sweetness, with some strawberry and citrus, nice malt tones, earthy bitters. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Good citrus and light earth hops in the finish, along with some very faint roasty, bready malts. Overall a solid beer.

1st December 2010 Pigs Ear. Clear and somewhat dark gold beer. Semi dry palate. Sweet light toffee malt. Well balanced with some piney bitter hops. Really well joined up. Lovely sweet and bitter vibe going on. Semi dry finish. Could drink loads of this.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jackl (706) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2011
Attractive golden color with an off-white head. The nose is quite sweet, with citrus and grassy notes. There’s a woodiness to this nose that reminds of of a saison. The taste is nicely hoppy, with some spicy black pepper notes, the finish is long and sharp. The mouthfeel’s medium, the carbonation lively. Monkey IPA’s a nice, hop-forward brew that’s just a little grizzled around the edges.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 downender (4380) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 14, 2009
Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 13/06/09. Amber with a tight white head that left rings down the glass. Aroma of spicy hops, oranges and sweet malts. Flavour had more of the same with some pine resin, prickly mouth feel and a long dry finish. The "monkey" in question is Chris, the manager of the Royal Oak, who appears on the pump clip. Very good.

Cask @ Royal Oak. Hazy dark gold with loose cask head. Tropical fruit--mango, lychee--in the aroma. Palate is light and casky. Spicy throughout. Kind of disjointed in the flavor department, but has a rustic character. I appreciate its quirks and for not being a sterile pasteurized American IPA. The hops here are herbal, rustic, floral, and tasty. Old school in a good way.

Cask (handpump) at the Wenlock Arms, Islington, 31 July 2009. Certainly aiming at an American IPA style and succeeds rather well. Amber colour. Plenty of pithy lemon on the nose. Grapefruit is stronger on the palate. Pine, resinous notes throughout. Not without malt backing either. Good balance. Good beer all round.

Cask conditioned at The Bell, Bath. Gold with white head. Malty beer with heavy dry grapefruit notes, definitely hoppy, agree with resinous, sharp throughout, really quite pleasant.

Cask@Wenlock Arms. Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is strong fruity hops along with some wooden and nectary notes as well. Flavour is bigtime citrusfruity hops along with the same things as in the arroma. Wellbalanced, pleasant and very refreshing IPA.

Cask Stillage from the Festival Bar at the Bhurtpore Inn, Aston 30/06/2009
Fruity pine hop aroma. Golden coloured fruity floral strong in alcohol and hoppy with a little dryness in a crisp and bitter malt finish.
