2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Leighton (6931) - London, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2011
Gravity cask at the Bree Louise, London. Pours cloudy, amber-gold with basically no head. Bit of ripe orange on the nose, some sugar. Sweet flavor, some ripe citrus, light yeast, bit of dough. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, light warming finish, more overripe orange and some mild spice. Um, alright. The good British witbier remains ever elusive.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 downender (5187) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 22, 2011
Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 22/07/2011. Deep amber with a slight off-white head. Yeast aroma with some banana fruit and hint of spice. Flavour had plenty of bubble gum, a touch of citrus, grainy edge and dryish finish. A bit strange, seemed to be heading in the direction of a German Hefeweizen without quite getting there.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 FatPhil (7496) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 16, 2010
Cask (Wenlock Arms, London)
5- Peas and vegetables, creamed corn.
3 Pale orange, a little cloudy.
6 Tastes better than it smells. Mid way between a wit and a weiss. Light grains, a bit bready, and some grassy hop.
3 Soft palate, carbonation low. Finish very bready, and little green hoppy.
12- Flaws stop this from being particularly good, but this has loads of potential.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Oakes (10935) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - OCT 6, 2010
Cask, Royal Oak, Twerton. Cloudy tan. Vaguely malty aroma. Malt-accented. Lacks spice, but with a touch of musty yeastiness as well.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - SEP 10, 2010
Cask @ Royal Oak, Twerton. Hazy yellow with sudsy head. Aroma is really nice, actually. Pure citrus peel and coriander. Soft and quaffable. A bit underwhelming in the flavor department but thankfully clean, and not too yeasty, too sweet, or too spicy. However, it does have a sort of homebrew simplicity. Good malt character shines through, as does a floral herbal hop. Boring but quite pleasant and much better than expected for a cask-conditioned English take on the style.
