As Monkey IPA, but tinkered with. The addition of chilli and ginger as if your taste buds could handle it anyway. This is stupid, stupid, stupid.

Ginger slice nose with a hint of lemonade. Pours a hazy pale gold with a fluffy head. Flavour is intriguing - under hopped ipa meets ginger beer with a touch of chilli fire. Notes of lemongrass and lime are also present. Finish is spicy. I dunno, I think I quite like it.

500ml bottle. Pours dark gold with a thin head. Aroma is orange with a little ginger. Quite unasuming. Taste has chilli warmth to start and a hot chilli kick in the finish. Some juicy hops too, but over powered. One sided, nothing else to it, really.

Bottle. Golden with minimal foam. Aromas are ginger and chilli with floral notes and base biscuit. Tea with pepper but mostly chilli. Flavours are spicy with chilli burn and underlying caramel malts. Faint praise, but one of the better chilli beers.

On tap at the Old Fountain. Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Palate is smooth with very mild carbonation. A little smooth malt. Mild orange marmalade and grapefruit hops. Touch of ginger and a whisper of apple. Finishes smooth with chilli heat starting to develop. Quite and easy drinking beer despite the spice but the chilli does linger.

Bottled@chriso pre-gbbf shindig 2012. Goldeny amber colour with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, nectary, mild spicyness as well as some slight alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is fruity, nectary, spicy, caramelly with some mild toasted and toffeeish notes.

sample at Chriso’s Pre GBBF tasting. golden pour, spiced chili notes, slight pepper induced heat, ginger not showing itself so much. Bitterness not so evident either

Bottle @ Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. Light amber color with no head. The nose is light herbal hops, some notes of strawberry jam. The taste is strawberry compote and dusty nuts. Good malt presence. Perhaps an old bottle? I’m not getting much hop bitterness. Nonetheless, fairly flavorful. Medium body, soft carbonation. OK.

Cask conditioned at Coventry Beer Fest ’12. Hazy gold with no head. I got the chilli and ginger in this straight away, there is a burning heat with the sharpness of the ginger, in a curry great, in a beer not so.

Cask at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury. Clear deep amber/golden. Ginger aroma. Sweet and fruity with medium body clean rounded mouthfeel. Hot chilli flavour that kills everything in it’s way. The most apt commercial description ever...

Bottle that I picked up at Vincent Montgomery Butchers, Wantage, Oxon, Saturday 22nd October 2011, consumed Saturday 29th October 2011 Pours light amber with a filmy white head. Warming with the chilli showing a little and the ginger apparent but a little less intrusive. A little flat in the mouth, citrussy, its not bad at all. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
