3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottles at 10,10 ABV
Very small white head
Smell is bitter, with some spices and some earth .
Taste is very intense , sweet , metallic, earth ( LOTS of earth ) with a bitter back, both hopbitters and bitterness from the malts that I would think are chocolate malts . Body is rather weak though , and together with this super-intence taste, it is a damn strange blend ! Very unique beer that has too many small subtile tastes that combine to one massive bomb . But mostly ’just ’ bitter-spices-earthy-chocolate , with a good, low, carbonation .

33 cl bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown with no head and very little carbonation. It has an aroma of chocolate and dark rum. Tastes sweet like a dark maple syrup. Palate is oily with no carbonation. Overall: tasty beer, it grew on me as I drank it.

33cl, at 10.1%Vol, new exclusive brew Anno 2013, from De Hopduvel Gent, very complex brew, alcoholic/spicy and slightly fruity/bitter, yet not too heavy, balanced, cloudy, nearly no head, very good brew, ’Keep on the good work!’

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
33cl bottle. Hazy brown color with no head at all. Nose : toffee, nuts, sweet coffee with milk. Sip : oily and thick, no carbonation. Cloying sweet with notes of toffee and coffee. Creamy with vanilla and strong mokka flavors. It’s warming with booze. Not that complex but delicious.

Dark mahagony in colour with a light pillowy dark/tan head. On the noses aromas of sweet dark lightly roasted malts develop with brown sugar molasses.Really full bodied with a slick bit oily texture and sweet tastes. Heavy beer and chewy. Finish is relatively long but loses some momentum after a while. Goes well with Gouda extreme old! On its own really heavy with the cheese or other foods pretty pleasant!

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2013 28/IV/13 - on tap @ Zythos Bierfestival (2013-430)
Cloudy rusty red brown beer, big aery beige head, pretty stable. Aroma: lots of caramel, raisins, dried fruits, gingerbread, caramelized nuts, liquorish, bread yeast. MF: soft to no carbon, medium to full body. Taste: caramel, mocha, liquorish, dried fruits, some overripe fruits, bit earthy. Aftertaste: spices (liquorish), dried fruits, bit sweet. Quite enjoyable!
