UPDATED: JUL 29, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) "Brunes" are usually dark, malty and rather sweet. In this case the malt is very present, but it’s a slightly smoked whisky-like malt. But otherwise this is very different. This is only dark golden with a fine, dense head and lots of yeasty sediment. Very dry, more dry than bitter, but stil fresh with an almost lactic edge. Very uncharacteristic and unique. 140799

(Bottled, 0,33l at the Helsinki Beer Festival 2004) Beautiful dark copper/amber color, small head. Caramel/chocolate-Malty, leathery aroma. Caramel-malty, sweetish flavor with hints of licorice. Full-bodied, oily palate. Above average dubbel.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2004 Dark amber coloured beer with a medium light brown creamy head. Sweet malty fruity aroma. The taste is sweet plums and slightly aged. No best before indicated. Reminds me of Kasteel Donker only less sweet and a bit more spicy. Medium bitter dry finish. A really good beer.
