harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Nov 14, 2005 Bottle at London Gathering Nov 2005. Dark brown beer with no head. Overly carbonated but with nice roasted malts. But bubbles are too much. Finish has some dryness and hop.
JayBaxter (358), Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Jan 26, 2007 Pours deep brown with an inch thick lasting creamy off-white head. Sweet candy aroma and a similar taste with a light hoppy finish. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia Mar 1, 2006 London Gathering Nov 05: Dark amber with a beige head. L’alcol č bene mascherato. rane (372), Nibe, Denmark Dec 11, 2005 Updated: Jan 24, 2006Dark brown colour with lots of long lasting head. Little disappointing aroma. Taste good but not overwhealming and a litle too much carbonation.
Not the best brune I have tasted.
Rerated 260106 Both bottle had exceed last date, but the last bottle was better sweetmalty aroma, good sweet taste. chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Dec 6, 2005 Bottle at London gathering, November 2005, bought from Beers of Europe. Although originally listed under the closed Artisans Brasseurs/Mibrana brewery, it seems that this beer is currently brewed by Du Bocq. Mid brown colour. Chocolate and caramel on the aroma. More of the same on the palate, with some sweet, plummy fruit. But the flavour is a bit light and lacks depth. A sound but low key double.
