UPDATED: APR 25, 2005 (Bottled, BBE 09/2005, my last bottle :() Very hazy, orange color with a large, white head. Very fruity, citric, slightly yeasty and spicy, somewhat toffeeish-caramely aroma with a hint of alcohol. Fruity, semi-dry, orange-lemony flavor with grassy hopping. A tiny hint of alcohol in the finish. Medium-bodied, very refreshing and smooth palate with high but style-suiting carbonation. A very well-balanced and tasty, easily drinkable, triple-like brew with character. It’s really sad the brewery is gone :(

Bottle I’ve been holding on to for about 6 years. Pours copper with a nice white head. Smells of ginger. dark fruit, caramel, some cherries, dough, some hints of clove and orange. Tastes of caramel, molasses, raisins, clove. Really enjoyable.

Bottle thanks to Hopdog back in January at his weekly tasting. BB 07. Pours a pure hazy yellow with ok white head but fades. Has a weird fruity aroma, almost strawberry -like with some herbal hops and sweet bready malt. Sweet flavor with earthy spicy phenolic saison like quality to it. Has a pretty nice dry finish to it. Body is a bit weak though.

Thanks hopdog. Banana yellow body with a clean, fading white head. Aroma is of honey, fresh split grain, and some sweet, earthy maple. Pleasant spicy yeast phenols lead in the flavor with light bubble gum, moderate sweet honey notes and some even, balancing bitterness. Nice beer.

Bottle labeled best before 02/02/07. Poured a medium golden color with a large sized white head. Aromas of yeast, spices (mainly pepper), apples, pears, and some bananan. Aromas of yeast, lighter pepper, and fruity. I was really into the aroma but found the tastes to be a big let down (being on the thinner and watery side).

Thanks to hopdog. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a medium white lacing head. Aroma of yeast, spices, apples and pears. Flavors of the same. A little more yeast and pepper in the flavor.

Retired, but according to the stamping, good for another two years. Nice pour, hazy yellow/straw with an intially frothy white head. No lacing. The aroma is full of fruit- peach, cherry, banana - with a sweet malt base. There’s a bit of a floral smell. And yeast, The flavor of this light-bodied ale is a small let-down, the sweet malt dominating supported by a lighter fruitiness, now including a citric tartness. Good & refreshing.

BB 02/2007. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (bread, cookie), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (mold), with notes of banana and dried pineapple, hint of clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Too sweet to drink a lot of (bitterness never really picks up in the finish) with a pretty straightforward sweet estery aroma. Not too bad, but nothing I’d buy or drink again. Funny how the label has a beer-drinking squirrel sitting by two nuts...and has a tail shaped just like a human testicle. Those cheeky Belgians!

A bit hazy golden color with huge white head, lace. Complex fruity aroma: banana, lemon, peach. Medium-bodied and very fruity. Malt, orange, banana together with caramel notes. Light hoppy notes in the finish plus alcoholic notes. Good triple-like Belgium - but no nuts found here :)

perfect looks, like a perfect triple but a bit darker. huge head, a big gush when I opened the bottle! Aroma is very yeasty, coriander, citrus, hops. Fruits and citrus are quite dominant. Taste is a bit surprising, it really hits you quite aggesively. Some liquerice on top of those hops and fruits, medium body, sweet and good taste. Some nuts deep in the aftertaste, dry finish, this is quite excellent and well balanced ..
