Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Mar 5, 2004 Cask conditioned. Fruity hop aroma of pineapples, mango and lime. Sweet with very mild bitterness. Not the winter warmer I expected, more of a sweet summery ale. chriso (4420), London, Greater London, England Feb 10, 2004 I was expecting a dark winter brew but, in fact, this is a light amber coloured bitter with a pronounced aromatic hop hit (Cascade?). Not much on the nose (again, JDW, served too cold?) but a distinct grassy cat's pee hoppiness on the palate. However, it seems a little short of bittering hops and the finish is somewhat short and flat. Handpump, Lord Moon of the Mall, Whitehall, London SW1.
SilkTork (3950), Rochester, Kent, England Feb 5, 2004 JDW, Rochester. Served so cold I made a formal complaint. Manager said he couldn't adjust the temperature because the lines went through the same cooler as the lager! Anyway, as far as I could make out when the beer warmed up, this is an average bitter with a mix of earthy and citric hops. Copper tinged amber colour. Dryish. Pleasant.
